I don't see how Lee just 'managed' the game

He made big plays down the field. It took a good game from the QB to win the game. I don't see this changing one bit even with the insane defense we have. Lee will need to continue to play at this level for us to stay in the hunt for Atlanta.

Managing the game isn't an insult. It just means he played to the teams strengths.

Managing the game is something you WANT your QB to be able to do. Get the ball to the open receiver, call the right audibles/checks, and be the leader on O.

People who use "game manager" as an insult typically have low football IQ

I know some will see it as wishful thinking but Lee just reminds me so much of Mauck and Flynn. The senior QB that just does nothing but what is asked of him. He'll make the occasional mistake, but nothing really detrimental to the team getting the victory. If he has to just defer to the RBs he can do that, but if called on to make the big play or win the game he can do that too. And all the while we know that our Defense will always give him that chance.

I'm so proud of Jarrett Lee and happy he chose to remain a Tiger. If this goes like we all want it to, Lee is going to go down as one of the most beloved Tigers in history.

People on the rant are either 100% one way or the other when the truth is usually in the middle. There were throws made that JJ had no chance to make, but there were plays JJ would have made with his feet. Lee was tripping over his back foot on every play. They both would have beaten a pathetic defensive MSU team on a short week's rest.

Lee has completed 81 percent of his passes in the last two games with 2 TDs and 1 INT.

I would say most of the Lee critics on this board need to admit that for some reason or another they just don't like the guy. They can piss and moan all they want about his 'footwork' or the way his spirals look or whatever, but they sure can't justify their criticism by looking at Lee's results.

I've been critical of JLee, particularly with his ball placement and timing, but last night he played an outstanding game. His was putting the ball where it needed to be and making throws all over the field ... including across the middle, where he has historically had some issues. I don't dislike Lee, but he has made me nervous with some of his passes ... if he can continue to play with the confidence he did last night, I would say LSU is in very good hands.

Looked really good except for one or two passes. Best overall mixing up passing in years for LSU

Of course he did. What do you think a game manager does?

Jen'ral Lee is simply displaying what many of us were demanding to see more of last year - a QB that can make the O go vertical and create a sound all around Offense. What a shame it took the circumstances that have occurred in order for him to get his chance. doesn't it make you wonder what could have been a year ago??? Instead of 11-2 we could have been good enough to beat Auburn and move on from there.

And as this season rolls, JLee will get better, even as the other offensive weapons improve as well.

when you have the ability to audible = decision making = management

no, Crowton's spread passing attack was completely different than the playaction game they're running now...

I'm in this same boat. I remember looking at film on Lee when he was first coming on board to LSU, and having very high hopes. I was thinking we may never see his potential play out, but it is looking up now.

Starchild, I am with you on Lee... I think by now even the most rantardious(is that a word?) contributors to the Rant would have to give props to Lee... unless there walking canes are just painted purple and gold and listen on the radio!! The dude is for real... a great story unfolding before our eyes..

Lee played very well. I'm tired of hearing the back foot argument. Most of those so called back foot throws are just throws where he has both feet side by side and swivels his hips to make the throw. Its more of a two foot base throw. Also there is one QB that will be in the nfl hall of fame that threw off his back foot or off balance all the time. If you've ever watched a brett favre game you would see this on almost every throw. He had a strong arm and knew he could get the ball in there with the snap of his wrist. Lee has some of that as well.
