I don't get all of the Chavis being unprepared talk

Defense played their arse off, and kept us in the game. Anytime you get a team trading touchdowns for field goals, that's a small victory for a defense.
With ANY offensive production, we would have had a chance...and the defense made that possible.
By the time they scored that TD, defense was BIGTIME gassed from being on the field the whole game.
Lay off of Chavis.

I haven't seen anyone gettin on chavis. Defense was great last night - the one shining spot of our team. We contained mccarron and never let richardson get going (td was irrelevant by that point). I hope all the underclassmen come back for another shot at the MNC

they didn't play badly, but they were ripped from 20-20 again. far too many easy throws.

D was great. It took some crazy arse throws by that jackleg qb to complete anything. TR was shut down completely, until late. Chavis is the Chief!

overall defense played great. made great adjustments in second half. however, we weren't prepared for AJ McCarron to throw the ball 30+ times. Saying we were unprepared for that is just the truth.

I agree, as our D played their butts off and Bama QB made some not good but great throws to well covered receivers. They were simply on the field way too long due to an LSU offense that could not get a first down nor cross mid field.. Hats off to the Defense, they came to play...

defense did great concidering they were on the field 3/4s of the game. Our offense should have been fresh in the 4th qtr

Defense played okay. They weren't great. McCarron threw the ball pretty freely between the red zones.

I thought the D played average at best.....at best. They never figured out the naked bootleg to the TE which is basically all Bama had.
Bama had three plays.
1. A fade that it basically is a catch or incompletion so it's little risk.
2. Hand off to TR.
3. Naked bootleg pass to TE.
LSU never stopped either pass play and they ran those 3 plays to the tune of 400 yards.
The D looked as ill-prepared as they have all season long.

The defense was FAR from great last night, they were dominated. The defense got no pressure on AJ, it was sad to watch. AJ tore the secondary up, that was not a great performance by Chavis last night.

Yes they played good but not great. They gave upwards to 400 yards of offense and in a field position game, they never got the stop that would help flip field position to even give our offense a chance. They were just bad from 20 to 20. Compared to the offense, they were all world but they did not play that well guys.

I'll take Chief over any DC in the country. The man puts a nasty defense on the field.
