But you can't say a thing about his recruiting. The amount is talent on that field is sick. Special teams players look like a feeding frenzy of sharks on a helpless baby seal. The defense looks like a bunch of berserker barbarians ready to level a small village before every play. Our wide receiver core and running backs are deep as the marinas trenches. we may be having struggles at one position where I am actually seeing some improvement, , but man, les can recruit!

Well, you can say a thing about his recruiting when you think of the absolute hash he's made of getting and keeping top level quarterbacks on campus, but yeah, in general, agree with what you're saying.

You must admit, some of these QB issues have been odd and unlikely to repeat. IF (big IF) he can keep the incoming talent level where it is and secure a serviceable QB, we will be fine.

Anyone got a kid that can sling it getting ready for college? lol

No it's not a "Big If". You don't follow recruiting do you?

My guess is that he was referring to RP then Lee leaving.

he's in 1st place in the SEC with one badass defense. didn't he just win his 54th game at LSU?

Yeah but everyone keeps telling me he's stupid and a terrible coach so damn all the evidence to the contrary!!!

The dumbest thing Les has ever done while coaching at LSU was the Ole Miss clock debacle last year.

If he hadn't have had that brain fart last year we would have been a 10 win team.

If that's the worst thing he's done while on his way to winning his 54th game, then I think I can deal.

then again, I'm not like some that think getting a coach that wins 10 games every year guaranteed is as easy as going get a carton of milk at Walmart. From some of the talk around here you would think coaches would be lining up to come to a school that fires a coach after he wins no less that 8 games a year.

all i'm saying is that when comparing his recruiting ability to actually coaching up and handling his talent...i believe he's a much better recruiter

i agree with you...our defense IS badass and our speed is ridiculous

don't mistaken me for one of the les bashers that thinks we should fire him, etc. while i'm not miles' biggest fan, trying to get rid of him right now is weak and very improbable

i do believe that there are coaches out there that could do a great job with this program just as les did...i'm just not a huge fan of his coaching style...but beggers can't be choosers and i'm excited to see what this year brings

The danger lies in taking that chance, but you know that.
I use Bama and Nebraska as examples all of the time. Nebraska fired their coach after he had a 9 win season and were surprised when their 1st and 2nd choices turned them down. Bama has been trying to get back to glory for over a decade and a half. They had to pay an amazing amount of money for a proven National Champion coach to get back there. AND the only reason they got him was because he made a horrible career decision and desperately wanted back into the college game. In opther words, they got lucky.

I think Miles is too nice! He shoulda taken care of dual d coordinators sooner an he should have already dealt with Crowton cause offense was terrible last year an I'm not sold on it this year!

LSU is really in a downturn, downward spiral & it's only a matter of time before he hits iceburg &/or maverick gets caught up in that damn jetwash again & goose..poor goose

Anyway the next big thing is Miles is really losing through his winning...sneaky bastard.

I honestly think it is more an issue in trying to find what our niche is offensively, it's like we are in constant "feeling it out" mode

completely agree! Nebraska was the first situation that comes to mind for me...

Think about this one....look at Miami's record the years following coker's departure!

I agree. I did like that pass to Shep, great call imo. in the meantime, Ridley's looking pretty damn good:

I think that the quarterback situation fwiw is going to settle down a bit before the Florida game. I think that we are going to build quite a head of steam if we Winthrop next 2 games handily.
