I know its early, but if this is any indication of the rest of the year, WOW. These guys are unselfish to the T. They are always looking for the open man, and they make sure every player on the floor is involved. That right there to me is a formula for Championship Basketball! Ive had more fun watching these past 2 games than ive had watching them the past 5 years! So excited to see what the season has in store for us brothers

I agree. It's amazing how much better the team is this year with the new guys. I was afraid it was going to be all hype, but this team sticks out like night and day compared to teams of even the last couple of years.

You thought it was going to be all hype? Did you watch any of those guys films?

This team hasn't even gelled yet and the scoring in onslaughts, can't wait till they actually have a feel for each other on the court.

Reminded me of showtime Lakers at times last night. This team has as much upside as any I've seen at LSU since Shaquille/CJ/Stanley Roberts.

I agree. As long as they stay healthy and keep gelling together. Watch out, we will be in for something very special!

It all starts with Simmons. When your best player is the most unselfish person on your team, and he's the team leader, others will follow.

I don't think many of the other players are innately unselfish. Ben is. It rubs off.

But will they be able to call a timeout in a critical juncture in a game?

Yes. Wouldn't be the first time an LSU _____ team was hyped up because of so and so being on the team. Like I said, I was wrong and I'm pleasantly surprised.

Sure, I have time to watch high school film of an incoming freshman basketball player. Why the hell not?!

My take on the 1st 2 games is...this team is sooo damn fast!

And, vs Kennesaw State, the defense was better than the 1st game. They'll have to guard the perimeter a little better, but that's also situational.

And, we still have 2 potential starters that haven't even played yet.

The one negative (if you can even call it that) is that I think Blakeney takes some questionable shots. Like, it seems like he's trying to show up on the stat line.

This is the best "team" i've seen at lsu. We have had great athletes and some good runs. However, this group shares the ball collectively. They are very deep. Gray has improved tremendously. Epps has improved, Robinson has improved. If victor and hornsby play unselfish like this, this is going to be really fun. They have enough players to play hard and not be tired at the end.

I'm not saying they will be final four or beat Kentucky. However, it is nice to see players want the others to do well. They all can play but they aren't selfish in trying to get theirs. I was hoping one of martin or mickey would stay to give them rebounding and shot blocking. however, especially mickey, i'm not sure they would be an asset with this group. mickey would hold the ball to much and try to get his.

It's truly a beautiful game the way they are playing. Not a lot of dribbling. they glide and pass, they are long and defend. Simmons is the star and sets the example. he plays the defense which is infectious to the others.

they will lose some games due to being cold (sampson was last night) or just don't have it on a particular night, or foul trouble, Especially when the competition stiffens. However, it's so refreshing to see what i consider basketball. it's a beautiful sport when they play together and unselfish. This team will be a joy to watch.

That is because our best player has that mentality.

Ben sets the tone and others follow. I agree that we have the depth to pressure on D and still stay fresh due to the depth at guard. Abundance of outside shooters will allow for Ben or Josh to penetrate and pass out to a spot up shooter. If the outside shooters are cold, we have the depth to replace that player with another skilled shooter. Hornsby's gonna have a good year. Besides his shooting skill, his speed on breaks w/ Ben will be awesome.

During the brief time Randy Livingston was on the court the team seemed to follow his lead with assists. I'm having a hard time finding any LSU basketball records, but I seem to remember that team set the single game record for assists. It seemed like they had a competition to see who was going to make the last pass.
