I believe if these four players win their match up, we win the game.

1)Josh Boutte, he is a big man playing his best ball. If he can Neutralize Allen, lsu is golden.

2)Our Rt. Tackle against Williams. If that is Weathersby or mae. neutralize Williams, that will give D.E. time to throw.

3)J.D. Moore vs Foster. Boutte handles allen in the run game, these two will square off. If Moore wins the battle, Our rb's have a big day.

4)I feel this is THE most important. Gilmore or Whomever the N.G. is. Clog the Middle run game make hurts pass. advantage lsu.

I feel Boutte and Moore can hold their own. I'm really concerned about our Rt and NG. However, I believe these four match ups are really the game. They effect the ability run, stop the run, and lsu's ability to pass.

I agree, but you forgot about the havoc that beckwith and Riley will do on Alabamas rushing attack

I think LBs will do the job against run, Adams will help out. We'll force them to pass.

OLine is my biggest concern too, especially that edge rush. DE needs to work that pocket perfectly.

Can't wait for JD to light Foster up though.

I didn't forget, I believe N.G. play is key to letting these two bring the boom. Keep the center/guard off of them and they will stuff the run for little gain.

when you have to wonder who will start at two positions you feel are key, I don't think you can count on your scenarios all panning out.

I just can't see us using Gilmore at NT in this one a he's getting blown up by lesser talent every game. Only hope for him is if he can just hold his position and allow the LB's to fill the holes beside him. Getting driven back 5 yards will cost us big time.

I've never really seen J.D. lose a battle so this bodes well for us.

This I am terrified of, I have not been all that impressed with our RT play, especially out of Maea.

4) is most important. If TV is not playing we have no chance. If Coach O wants to play favorite s and Gilmore gets the snaps the game is over in the 3rd quarter. TV looked good when playing early in the season. He's listed at 3rd on the depth chart that came out today. Jobs are on the line with this game.

You really have to wonder if this third team stuff is all a ploy for whatever reason.

Misdirection is good for more then just the football field.

Look for valentine to make a bigtime appearance in this game at the noseguard role. I believe the coaches will play him alot this week. Just a hunch.

First of all, Allen almost always lines up as a right DE, though they do move him around a bit. This means the responsibility of blocking him will mostly fall to Clapp and Malone. On passing downs they will probably chip him with an H-back or RB. I do think we will try and run quite a bit behind Boutte, right at Williams and Tomlinson. Williams is great at rushing the passer, but he's more ordinary when it comes to defending the run right at him. As far as Gilmore being the key to stopping the run game, he is just one piece of the puzzle. I actually am more concerned about Neal holding up when he is lined up as a 5 tech DE, as up til now he hasn't been great holding up against the bigger O-linemen he is up against. We seem to be much stronger when lining him up as a 7 tech in a 4 man front.
