Lure? No. It was part of the "arrangement" made after last season. I can't bleieve it's not talked about more, but Miles is leaving on his own accord. The Herman/Aranda deal was done. Aranda could leave sooner, so he did.

I'm not trying to be difficult, but you're saying Miles brought in Aranda to get at Herman to eventually replace himself? I'm sorry. I just can't buy into this.

People who wouldn't sacrifice a few losses to get Elmer Fudd out of town and have Herman and Aranda are borderline mentally handicapped.

You didn't hear? Miles told Alleva he was leaving and wanted Herman in his place only if they brought on Aranda.

But seriously with those 2 I would never care what assistants they chose.

Considering miles hired aranda, I think he made the hire with saving his job in mind not losing it

Yes, Les Miles loves LSU so much that he hired Aranda so after he's fired we'd be able to hire Herman.

The same Aranda that got drubbed by Herman 59-0?
Yah that would be the reason for me to come to LSU if I was Herman.

seems like this was at least a factor in bringing in Aranda.

So help me with this. Les Miles hired a guy to help bring in his replacement the following year!!!

Aranda is here because of his own work. That's all. Not everything is a secret calculated move.

I think it is more likely Aranda believes he has a good shot at taking over as head coach when Miles retires in a few years.
