What would happen if the regional was rained out for some reason. Is there a standard procedure? #1 seed advances? Play later in week and push back super regional?

Found answer: Rain out rule

It would have to be played and we'd be on short rest for super. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes.

I think the formula is something like:

(Seed # * .8333) / (Wins in state - losses out of state) * ((conference standings + date of game) / team GPA = Tie Breaker in case of rain out

Good thing is LSU and Houston are in the same boat and both will probably have delays but there will be enough windows to get them in, there have been worse forecasts before

not enough rain to affect the game, maybe an hour or 2 delay. the total rainfall for that day is less than 3 hours each day.

you get it in when you get it in. I doubt we get rained out for a week.

You mean if we had the kind of epic rains that Austin and Houston got during those floods? That is a good question. Saw a pic of soccer fields in North Houston with water 8 feet up the goals.

Regional. If inclement weather limits play, every effort has been made to complete competition by Sunday and competition cannot be completed by Monday, the team that will advance to the finals will be based on the following:

0 games played Highest seed
1 games played Highest seed
2 games played Highest undefeated seed
3 games played Highest undefeated seed
4 games played Highest seed
5 games played Highest undefeated seed
6 games played Winner of game 6 unless each team has one loss, therefore the teams are tied, then:

1) Head-to-head competition.
2) Highest remaining seed.

So our aggressive base running approach will be slowed a little?

Works in our favor, but that seems pretty shitty. I'm surprised they don't just make more of an effort to move the regional.

That link is about softball. There are scheduling guidelines in the NCAA Preliminary Rounds Host Operations Manual. Page 21. The most extreme scenario they have is both games on Friday and Saturday are rained out and the tournament goes until Tuesday.

Not for nothing, but those are softball rules. There was a super regional back in 2013 I think that went to Tuesday or Wednesday because of weather.
