If recruiting is the issue then you want LSU playing in the best bowl environment available.

The difference in prestige from the capital one, to the chicken bowl, to the cotton is all negligible in this regard

Absolutely not. You want LSU playing in the best bowl game against the best team available. That is what benefits LSU recruiting.

Its almost mindboggling to want otherwise.

Bama losing football games and not playing for championships benefits LSU's recruiting more than LSU playing in the cotton bowl over the chic-fil-a, that is a fact

I know its all a matter of opinion but IMHO the Cotton Bowl is still a more prestigious bowl. Especially if we can match up with a highly ranked Baylor. Not likely to get a higher ranked opponent elsewhere.

I don't buy this at all. LSU lost recruits to bama the year LSU won the national championship because these recruits believed they would see the field at bama before they would at LSU.

With the hatred of the Rant toward the Chicken Bowl, how would you guys feel about a scenario that plays out with a Bama loss sending the Tigers to ATL on New Year's Eve? Are you still praying for a Bama loss? Or is the Chik-Fil-A that terrible to you that you'd actually want the Tide to win?

I don't see how a Bama loss would change our bowl outlook. Bama is locked in for a BCS bowl no matter what. Auburn/Mizzou get BCS/Cap1. USC gets Gator. LSU to Cotton.

But I wholeheartedly agree with this

Landon Collins, Cameron Robinson, Hootie Jones. All 5 stars. All in our backyard.

I don't hate the CFA Bowl. I hate its name and I'm kind of tired of it, but its usually a good matchup and I like the time slot.

I HATE BAMA.

These two events are not linked. Therefore, we pull for Auburn today with a clear conscience.

LSU will always lose some recruits to Alabama as long as Saban is there. They will take some recruits whether Alabama plays for an NC or not.

Yes, I would prefer a Bama loss EVEN if it meant the Chicken Bowl (again)!

why would a bama loss send us to the chicken bowl. A bama loss today increases our chances to go to the cotton bowl. Because they won't fall out of the BCS if they lose today just the national championship

I don't recall them taking anyone of real significance Saban's first 2 seasons at Bama...maybe I am wrong

Eddie Lacy comes to mind in the 2009 class although I don't know how much, if any, interest LSU had in him.

Did we even offer Lacy? At the very least we backed off of him because we had no idea he would qualify

somehow Bama found a way

Honestly I don't know. I don't recall a great deal of interest but I could be wrong.

If Ohio State and FSU go down I become a huge Auburn fan. Chaos...
