Maybe a 3. They had 2 losses last year and was a 3 seed

With a super weak non conference schedule.

As long as it's a 4 seed or better, doesn't really matter.

Non-conference games vs Colorado and Virginia Tech should help.

Van Lith did not turn into a bad player. She has played out of position, because the team does not have a quality point guard. Velez is not ready, so Poa will have to improve her game. Losing Smith was a serious blow; it is forcing Reese and Morrow to play extra minutes. The team has some things to overcome, but it can happen again.

Now you see why Angelica Velez, Janae Kent, and Amani Bartlett don’t come close to getting SEC minutes with the game in doubt.

Kent is actually not bad. Velez and Bartlett are another discussion.

Exactly why I flipped the page to respond. Kent has impressed the little time she has been in.

I think 3 seed at best. Can’t have anymore letdown losses. You probably have 1 more loss in the sec tourney, giving you 5.
So 3-4 seed seems correct.

Agreed. Kent is the all time leading scorer for both men and women at her high school in Illinois with over 2000 points. I think she will give good bench minutes.

Kent needs more time, and I was suprised being up over 30 in 2nd half, she would have gotten more time. I think the other 2 may not be here next year. We are going to need to hit the portal for a pg.

If I were LSU I would forfeit playing in the SEC tournament and rest the legs for the NCAA tournament.

I've been very complimentary of LSU talent and fan base. I'm just staying things out loud that I know some of the LSU fans are thinking.

If LSU wins out the rest of the regular season the SEC tournament isn't going to do squat for your seeding. Why go tire out your players when the prize doesn't help you.

It's almost like she was the player she was at Louisville. You would think the greatest coach in the universe would have figured that out months ago.

I think Kent is gonna be much better next year and play more minutes. She is athletic. Don't think Velez or Bartlett will improve. Wouldn't be surprised if Bartlett transfers, which would free up scholarship.

Bartlett has been happy sitting on the bench here for three years so I don’t doubt she’d come back for a fourth. Of course, CKM could always tell her to look elsewhere. What a bust she has been. 6-3 and one of the top high school players in Texas and has contributed nothing.

Honestly it doesn't really matter as long as they finish as a top 4 seed (which they really need to win out)

The gap IMO between some of these seeds in WBB isn't as big as it use to. Granted matchups are everything still in post season play. A certain style of play as a lower seed may be more difficult than playing a certain higher seed

Just finish top 4, host both games at home and let the chips fall where they may after

Still 4 road games left. They need to play better on the road than they have been or it’s going to be tough to win all 4.

The only reason I’d want a 3 seed is so you wouldn’t face the 1 seed until elite 8.
At that point it’s been a great season and whatever happens after that is gravy

I was very happy with what I saw yesterday from the guards. The fact of the matter, though, is that at some point we are going to face another team that will press the shite out of us or at least have a lot of ball pressure, like what Mississippi State did. We will still have to deal with it at some point.

The good news is that out of our 4 remaining road games, only Tennessee has a true "home court advantage". We shouldn't see any more rabid crowds again all season like what we dealt with at Auburn and Ole Miss.

What we need for NCAA's is to make sure we keep a top 4 seed and host and we need to get a little fortunate and play teams that are not guard-oriented on defense.

The key though when they encounter that is they are going to have to move on offense, set screens to counteract all of that. Well hopefully Poa and Williams can step up this last month. I think Kim keeps HVL primarily off the ball the remainder of the year. At this point they need her offense, we can't afford for her to struggle with the PG position and struggle to find her rhythm on offense. Williams has a tendency to turn it over too much but she at least is better able to execute entry passes to the post the best with Poa of the guards we have.

Vandy and TN are legit the two sincere challenges left on the schedule. TN will be the toughest. Only good thing is they aren't very good defensively and tend to give up a lot of points.

But every game for LSU is very winnable and frankly if they actually play somewhat to their potential they will do fine. Hopefully with what happened the last few weeks they have a much great sense of urgency now
