Hurd is still learning how to pitch and hes coming off injury. There is still plenty of time for him to continue to develop, improve, and gain confidence. We have 7 SEC weekend Series left. Plenty of time. Hurd has elite stuff just needs to tighten up the command a little. Both Johnsons are going to get Hurd where he needs to be. I'm not ready to give up on Hurd his stuff and talent is too elite.

10 running teams so often leaves questions in the bullpen, but its a good problem to have. Keep winning by 10 and you wont need a bullpen.

Little has had a few hiccups lately but he started the season on fire. Little has elite stuff as well. Just needs to get his confidence back in a controlled situation. It would not shock me to see him get the start in the 3rd game with the task of going 1 time through the order or 3-4 innings depending on his success.

Would someone pllllllease give me admin privileges for a day?! Hell, for 15 mins! Why this negative count hasn’t been banned is beyond ridiculous.

It’s 1 thing to be a little negative or have shitty takes from time to time, it’s altogether another to ONLY have shitty and negative takes. Positive vibes, the bitch won’t ever post, only when he can troll does he appear.

Little has 1.1 bad innings and he’s a reliever so that’s all people will remember.

Outside those innings he has given up 2 runs in 16 innings of work including saves vs Texas and Texas A&M.

I am Not really ready to call it on him after 2 bad appearances.

He'll pop up again as soon as a team gets a lead on us or gets a few runs in an inning. This pussy has now hitched his cart onto the bullpen as he can no longer cry about our offense, defense and starting pitchers.

Hurd has a confidence problem right now. He does not know where his pitches will go. He has the talent and with CWJ can get this back on track IMO.

You can see the staff giving both Collins and Bucknam more opportunities. I was especially impressed with Bucknam last night as his FB hits 94-95 and his CB was sharp in the zone. I'm sure CWJ was calling those pitches as he threw FB's to get one out, and ALL CB's for the 2d K. Work your arsenal.
I'm sure Collins will pitch in Columbia as required, but I'm betting Bucknam gets his weekend opp during the next home series. Set the FR up for success.

If what's been said about Shores is true, that means you're now starting Herring in the third game and you're now depending on some guys in the pen who haven't gotten consistent outs all year.

Bit scary.

I said this after the A&M series. Cooper, Money, Little, etc. are going to get hit in the SEC. Hurd has not proven to be the guy on Sundays. So now it's either Herring or Edwards on Sunday. So now it's even more crucial to get 7 innings on a consistent basis from Floyd and Skenes because the bullpen is the weakest point on this team.

Made it to super regionals last year with a pitching staff that would be worse than this years staff if the 5 best pitchers decided to retire tomorrow and a defense that committed on average 4 times more errors per game than this year.

I get your point but we did not make it to the Supers last year.

CJ gonna have to play it game to game, win the ones he can with best pitching available. When Sunday comes around, well, it will be interesting.

Hurd can't find his release point. I think it's mechanical, to a degree, in that he's still just not completely used to his new arm slot and they also keep changing things (his windup was different one outing, he pitched exclusively from the stretch last night, etc). As a result, I think he's also lost some confidence. They seem to let him rip some weeks, then some weeks they're tinkering. Maybe he's not comfortable after pitching so they're trying to figure out how to rectify that. Playing the long game.

If Ack and Shores were healthy, I think maybe Hurd would go back to mid-week starter. I guess we could still slot Little in for game 3, but then you limit your pen arms. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hurd back out there for a game 3 until at least Ack is healthy.

Hurd isn't an sec pitcher

We are thin on Sunday

Without Skenes' stats included, the overall stats on our pitching staff as a whole may have one question how are we no.1 and 26-4.

Also South Carolina will most likely be the second best team we have played so far.

What is your take on Georgia, Missouri, and Mississippi State? Literally the bottom of the barrel in the SEC right now. Because that's who South Carolina has beaten so far.

I’d disagree about hurd not being an sec pitcher. He’s struggled big time but he has all the talent. He’s struggling to find his release point following the injury. At UCLA and all spring Jay kept saying hurd is our best strike thrower. He’s just way off right now, but he’ll get right

Given the rest of your terrible opinions, I’m assuming this means he is actually quite good.

“If you take away the ace’s stats, the numbers aren’t as good overall guys!” What a stupid post.

It’s also stupid to Ignore we haven’t lost a game that Floyd started.
