with the hiring of a "proven" offensive coordinator at the end of this season? or atleast an up and coming offensive mind?

depends on the hire...if he is a gadget system guy from a small school who is the latest fad, I wouldn't be too happy. If he has had success at multiple places, particularly if he has adapted to personnel, I would be optimistic. In addition, though, the QB situation is still a total mess, so he has to show that recruiting is turning that around as well.

I'd have Miles' back if he got a solid OC. The players love him and he's a great recruiter. Crowton needs to be kicked out of the coaching staff like Smitty was kicked out of the gang in Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

agreed...assuming this signing class holds the solution to that issue...i'd be interested to see how coach crowton did with one more season as oc

disagree 10000%. Get him out of here and bring in a top notch OC, an OL coach who knows how to block for his scheme, and let him develop Mettenberger.

you think he'd manage to mess it up that bad?
unfortunately, you're probably right

Fire Chavis and go back to the Co-defensive coordinator gig. Find a way to increase Crowton's salary so we make sure he stays on for at least a few more years. As long as he wins the homecoming game against ULM he is safe in my book.

It wouldn't. Well, maybe it would if he goes with a co-head coach approach and the other HC is Jon Gruden. Oh, and LM stays home. Yeah, if that happens then my opinion would change.

I have seen enough of Miles over the last 6 years to have a very firm opinion, regardless of what transpires over the next few months.

I don't think this could hurt him! But for it to stay good, he needs to hire a proven OC who doesn't run primarily the spread. LSU has to be able to pound the ball. Line up big shove it down their f*&^%n throats, then go play action and hit our big play receivers. None of this cute screens. Throw it down field. Ohhh and this individual will have to be able to coach up a QB!!!!!!

I played Madden a lot, do I qualify?????

If we give Crowton 2 or 3 more years, he'll get this figured out

My opinion of Miles won't change unless I see evidence of improvement on the field.

I guess I'm kind of getting to hire coordinators to bail him out of his previous hiring decisions.

if he hires a good solid and proven OC and gets a good OL coach, i'll be happy as hell.i'll also think we have a very bright future. if he keeps crowton and stud, add me to the list of those calling for his head.

Are you seriously advocating keeping Crowton here beyond this season?

Let's see, Jimbo didn't cut it. Crowton isn't cutting it. Maybe its the coach?

I'd go to neutral for one season and no longer. He's burned through my goodwill. If he had made a change at the end of last year, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt for two seasons. But not now.
