Let me clue you moflo's in on a little secret. Any LSU higher up, legit booster, or legit fan, would trade EVERY SINGLE VICTORY IN THE HISTORY OF THE BASEBALL PROGRAM to win the men's ncaa tournament in 2015. I am as big a tiger fan as any and I AM THRILLED when we win any baseball game or championship, but the only 2 sports that truly matter are fb and men's hoops. Everything else is just window dressing.

Yes.

As an avid hoops fan no one hates the apathy surrounding LSU basketball more than me.

However, I'm an avid LSU sports fan and I'll talk LSU sports with anybody, any time. And I honestly can't remember the last time I even heard anyone discussing LSU track.

Slow down. One national title in basketball to throw away our baseball team's history? If you throw away that history, you will probably turn a baseball program that makes a profit to a program in the red every single year. I guarantee no LSU higher up would want that. And less than a decade ago we were only two games away from winning it all. Would I trade all of our baseball success for those two more wins? No. Plain and simple.

Correct. But it's still not as popular as Football and Baseball. Where's our Marketing Department?

No one outside of Baton Rouge and the state of Mississippi cares about college baseball. LSU is great at baseball, fantastic. Football and basketball are the only two college sports that matter.

You are so wrong. LSU is among about 5-7 schools where baseball is more important than everything other than football. In addition, they proved the importance of baseball, and the sister sport of softball, when they offered the ALABAMA coaching staff the LSU softball program. As for me, baseball is number 1 at LSU and it always will be.

I doubt any legit booster or fan would trade 5 NC in baseball for one in basketball. Yes, basketball gets tons more publicity, but 5 NC in ten years in baseball means more to fans than on NC in basketball.

Would I trade a couple of those for a basketball championship. Sure. But no way in hell 5 in 10 years.

A huge credit to DD who has been at LSU longer than I've been alive (30+ years).

Yeah Alex Box was real packed before Bertman.

In 3 years when we have made 3 Tourneys in a row with a run in there somewhere then I promise you the PMAC will be back to outdrawing the box. Especially with the boring small ball approach.

The fans packed it out and supported mens bball plenty during Dales run. Basketball as a rule in college brings in more casual fans and the only reason that hasnt been the case for the past 10-15 years for LSU is the basketball program went in the crapper with two inconsistent unlikeable coaches. As soon as the team puts together 2-3 successful seasons (as we are primed to do) order will be restored.

yeah BUT

that's damn near an entire generation that has known Tiger basketball to be at best inconsistent and at worst mediocre

meanwhile that generation has known making Omaha to be the MINIMUM requirement for a successful season. that generation has caused every in-state school to upgrade their baseball programs
