You don't. A 1-loss Pac12 or Big12 champion will get in over any nonconference winner.

There would be a revolt, especially from west coast press, if the committee dissed either team as 12-1

No, there is really no West Coast Press apart from the Laker's coverage.

The revolt would be from LSU fans because they have to play Bama again and would go in all confident and it would be 11/11 all over again.

Mediocre teams beating other mediocre teams. It's not complicated.

Playoff committee stated in their original mission statement that they would give an edge to Conference champions over other teams...but they bailed on that from the get go.

All conferences are not created equal. ACC is shite and so is Clemson’s SOS.

Conference Championships are inherently unfair in this system.

I’m not advocating for Bama to be in it. But that stipulation about Champions is bs.

If one of Oregon and Utah finish 12-1 and Pac-12 champs, they are in, no matter what Alabama does.

Except there are 5 power conferences and only 4 spots. They need to do away with the playoffs and bring the BCS back. That was the best system in my opinion.

Ever since Bama scored that late TD to make it a 5-point game, I have been telling my friends that the powers-that-be better think this one through REAL carefully before they let Bama slide into the playoffs (yet again).

I honestly do think it would anger many people into essentially boycotting college football. I mean, frick, what's the point when the deck is clearly stacked in favor of some teams over others?

I agree with you. But what team with legit playoff aspirations would schedule a game with Alabama during the regular season? They are always gonna play a weak non-conference schedule I think.

The conference bully won't schedule Bama (Ohio State, Oklahoma etc), but you better believe the teams chasing them would. Wisconsin, etc.

You play up OOC, so when you face the elite team in your conference, it's not a shock. Win-win for both teams; Bama gets a better SOS, and the other team gets a good look at elite talent "before it counts".

Well, Bama is the only team with a loss in the worst SOS teams in the race. So much for not scheduling anybody.

This needs to be a major talking point.

It would be the THIRD time these asshats backdoored their way in. That's absolutely ridiculous and it would never happen to any other team.

Bama isn’t getting in over a 1 loss conf champ this year. Unless I’m mistaken the AD’s of both Oregon and Oklahoma are on the committee this year. They’re gonna go hard for their teams if they have one loss.

I pretty confident the committee has a plan already in place

Auburn is a common opponent (in the Oregon beating Utah scenario.)

And they might be expected to recuse themselves.

Bama plays a 2 game schedule every year- LSU and Auburn. Their permanent east opponent (Tenn) is just plain bad and their OOC schedule is a joke. Basically they have to go 1-1 against LSU and Auburn to get in. People are starting to realize this is a farce. I don’t think they go over a 1-loss conference champ.

Oregon won't get left out. Their quarterback is a top 10 pick and they gonna want him on the TV

I don’t believe in the non conference champion in the playoffs or NC as it cheapens the whole season.

Respectfully I couldn't possibly disagree more for reasons that should not have to be explained.

Assuming you are an LSU football fan, and lets say that LSU loses in the SEC Championship game to Georgia by a FG or less. To be clear you would be okay with Oregon taking the fourth spot in the playoffs over LSU even with their loss to Auburn, and the Tiger's impressive "resume" be damned?

Lord I hope all this foolish talk isn't motivated by a fear of having to face Alabama again.

8 teams would legit be perfect.

Have the first round the week before Christmas on Campus.

How great would it be to play Ohio State/OU//Oregon in a first round home game in DV in 50-55 degree weather.
