I'm expecting a very tough game Saturday and hopefully the boys are focused on the task at hand. Appy St should have won that game last night. UT got very lucky and if they can't be pumped up for the first home game of the year in front a huge audience then they may have some leadership issues

don't see how the coaches are to blame. UT's defense came through. the coaches called the plays that were working for them all night and there was that sack that got them out of FG range. I thought the coaches were playing for a game winning FG and not leaving UT any time to come back; it just didn't work.

When they tried that WR screen on the second to last play of regulation and Tenn stopped it they should have called timeout instead of hurry up. You get one more shot to get a closer field goal.

This is the correct answer.

If that hypothetical happened, I would feel that we're badly overrated.

I don't see a scenario like that happening, though.

Pissed off and yelling "Fire the Hat!". Just like everybody else.

Will be close for three quarters. It is difficult to blow a decent team out playing on the road the first game of the season.

I wouldn't have liked it at all, but as I say every year...if we win every game by 1 point, we win the National Championship (and the West, and the SEC).

I've been listening to the guys on satellite radio all summer blabbing about how great Tennessee is going to be this year but I've never believed it. Seems my skepticism was well placed.

Seriously...had the QB just run vertically instead of for the sideline they may have been in field goal range w/ 1 TO left...

IIRC LSU took the lead with about 5min left and won by 9.
Maybe Blazers vs Saban would leave a similar taste.

what the hell are some of you talking about we've lost many like this?
UAB yeah. 16 years ago.

Troy. We were not good. We had already lost 3 games, just lost to Bama in OT. Saw JLee throw pick 6's all year. There were no expectations to do anything good that year much less great like Tenn is expected this year.

I was just thinking the other day about what is Les Miles worst lost here at LSU. What was the worst team he's lost too?
Maybe a bad Ole Miss or Arkansas? Maybe Notre Dame from 2 years ago?

We've lost to the same teams since Miles has been here. Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, sprinkle in a Tenn, once to the best MSU team this century, once to the best Kentucky team this century, a shitty Penn State game that shouldn't have been played, a good Clemson team, a crappy Notre Dame.

Seriously, what's the crappiest team to beat us in Miles' tenure? We haven't had a shitty lost since UAB in 2000.
Arkansas in 2008 was 5-7. That's probably the worst loss, after we already lost 4 games that season and was the worst season we've had this century, yet we still managed to beat the shite out of Ga Tech in the bowl game.

They played a lot like LSU has for the last 3 years, talented know it yet nervous about putting on a show. This is what Aranda was brought here for or one of the reasons imo to slow them down just a notch to play more smart disciplined football. Stay in your gab quit trying to make the play yourself and make it as a unit. Bama does this the best and so does wisky so we will have to match them with this style of play. If we do there is no way they run on us thus making them one dimensional and we win. We need to come out confident not crazy good but confident in the team playing for each other. Keep your gap at all cost and let the play come to you. It has to eventually so let it and make the plays that come to you.

Except for the fact that humans vote on how your wins "looked".

It could hurt them down the road. And, let's see how App St finishes out.
