we have been in a few situations like that through the years...some we won and some we lost. always sucked balls, though.

We most certainly do not lose games like that. Lsu hasnt lost a regular season ooc game in over a decade. You have to go all the way back to 2000 when Lord Saban lost to uab.

And it should. I don't expect 42-10, but if we lose or it comes down to the final play of the game I will be furious.

You would be furious if lsu barely beats a top 20 program( not top ranking)in what is a basically a road game?

We've had scares like this before - Troy (if you want to be realistic about it, twice, but 2008 was a big, big scare), Houston (96), plus we actually lost to UAB in 2004 and to Houston in 1999.

So, it's not exactly uncharted territory.

Knowing this board, the sunshine pumpers would be proclaiming that LSU is a young team. They would be hailing Les for coming through in the clutch. And as usual everyone would be

Honestly, I think there is a big difference between our game and the Tenn-App St game. A lot of it is the psychological angles.

Tennessee was widely proclaimed to win in a blowout, but their team isn't used to winning competitive games. App St has been winning a lot (going back to FCS levels), and they ARE used to winning. Tennessee overlooked them, and got caught in a dogfight with a team that didn't fear them or expect things to go wrong.

LSU- Wisconsin, on the other hand: LSU is coming in used to winning these games, and Wisconsin is accustomed to being the team that might play well but lose to the higher-ranked team. The game being in the Badgers' home state, I can't see LSU taking them lightly, especially after the tight game a couple seasons ago.

So I expect our game will go a lot more according to predictions- we will come out and establish that we are the better team, and win by a comfortable margin. Wisconsin will be playing to keep the game from being embarrassing by the 2nd half. Just my opinion.

Couple of things here:

#1- What were we ranked when we lost to UAB? I was talking about this LSU team going to OT with App State. Tennessee has the exact same aspirations and expectations as LSU this year. ETA: LSU was already 2-2 and not ranked. Tennessee fans are expecting an SEC east title and aspiring for a National title. Situations are completely different.

#2- I was talking about a game specifically against a very low FBS/FCS school, not a close game against Wisconsin. We travel to Lambeau to play these sons of bitches. If we win 21-20 I'll be happy a shite.

Can you imagine if Les would've not called a timeout at the end of regulation like the App St coach? Oh the melt would've been epic.

They basically lost. If a freshman could kick AT ALL, they lose that game. They definitely would have had to go for 2.

Sucks for the freshman, he lost it after the rest of his team played to win
