We are talking about Miss State not Alabama. Miss State has a good coach but do they even have top 20 talent on that team? Maybe top 25 talent at best. This LSU team falls in with some of the most talented LSU teams in recent memory. If this LSU team wants to win the SEC West they need to beat the teams we beat every year and Miss State is one of those teams. LSU is a more talented team by a good margin. There is no excuse for losing to Miss State.

We should be very worried...the bullies will be much more physical than Oregon...this is the SEC.....the Bulldogs have no fear of the Tigahs!!!! Anything les than A game will not be good enough.

Playing NWS this weekend is a lot better than playing at Auburn. We will be able to gameplan a little more than they will I think since we have the cupcake game. Which is why I don't see us playing at our full potential this weekend. I also think Lee will play most of the game to get him ready for the two road games rather than prepare Mettenberger for the future.

LSU was a much more talented team than KY in '07. It's not a gimme.

I think LSU will prevail, but it's definitely a game that worries me. It's Thursday night in Starksville where LSU barely got out last time. Add in the fact that MSU has a solid d and LSU's QB situation is still a ? and yeah I'm worried.

Let's hope LSU isn't as cocky going in as you or they may leave with an asspounding. Never ever take an SEC game on the road as a gimme.

Look at MSU's offense.

How many players do they have that would be getting playing time at LSU?
Relf- QB
Ballard - RB
Bumphis - WR
James Carmon - OT

Look at their D.
How many players would be getting playing time at LSU?
Fletcher Cox - DT
Josh Boyd - DT
Charles Mitchell - S (likely ST contributor at LSU)

If you look at their cornerstone athletes, the pieces are there for an upset. They have talent at very important positions to match up with LSU. LSU is a pounding running team. MSU has solid DT's. For an upset, you need an offense that controls the clock and moves the chains. A solid OT and WR's give you a decent passing threat. A good RB can help dictate down and distance.

LSU has to make some mistakes to help them out, but don't think MSU is a gimme. The difference between a contest and an LSU blowout will be how well MSU handles the short week.

They're not hiding in the weeds like last year, so they shouldn't surprise anybody. If we play as well as we did on Saturday, we should win going away. I think Oregon would handle MSU based on talent differential alone, particularly in depth (depth is what makes the difference between the top tier and mid-tier teams in BCS conferences).

I guess I am the only one who thinks we win by 3tds. When is the last time you saw lsu with this much swagger and in this conditioned? This team really enjoys getting up and punishing people. We have our shite together and very organized (from what I can tell). The Oregon conditioning will keep paying off the whole year.

We will know more after this weekend (oddly).

Lsu will stomp state.

I'd fully agree if it were a Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

Those Thursday night road games just have a weird effect. Their crowd is going to be nuts for that game.

If we whip MSU, I will be ready to say we have something special this year...not quite ready to say that yet..(Can't believe I will use MSU as a bench mark) :)

We won one game...we played well..but Oregon coughed up the football 4 times...that can not be ignored....sure we knocked it lose, but come on....they helped us a lot... I was very nervous after the 2nd qtr Oregon score..our guys were winded

On the oher hand, we dominated them last year. How much better can they be?

and if they had cut out a couple of bad plays, they'd have beaten the NC (on an early season Thursday night in Starkville). every week is different and you better be ready.

If there's one thing I've learned about the SEC, you worry about every game. MSU seems much improved on offense and we don't want to underestimate them.

They will stack the box with 8 or 9 sometimes 10 and dare Lee to eat them just like Bama will. They will just not be as good at it. I expect a low scoring game in the teens or low mid twenties. They will just try to keep it close and pull it out in the end. Since we will be doing teh same thing it will make for a close game. If it is bad weather rainging really windy they will be at an advantage. Slower muddy field will negate our speed advantage.

I look for a close game that we pull away with with a Special teams play liked blocked punt, return TD etc. Turnovers are always what has killed them in the past and they will really try to avoid those this year and be patient on Offense. They will try to run it right down our throats and pass out into flats, curls in the middle etc

Now we know just how good Miss State is. No excuse to lose this game. Auburn is not a very good team at all.

Every year a bunch of ranters buy into the Moo State hype. They are a bunch of overhyped 2 star athletes guys. Where do they rank in recruiting each year? 4oth, 50th? Bama is on our level, hell even Florida is on our level, Moo State is on ULM's level. Relax.

They have a better power running game then Oregon. This will be a good test for the defense to see how we can stop a power rushing attack. Relf isn't the greatest passer, but he's a heck of a runner. Not too worried about them, those options plays won't work against us, their best chance is to run up the middle.
