But seriously, when you try and register on the live.geauxlsu.com website, this message has been up since February.

Same thing for me.

How long does our regular email last?

I had to send an email until they got it working, the site has had problems since I graduated in May 2011. On the plus side, it's been over a year since graduation and my PAWS email still works

ETA: My alumni email is through hotmail/outlook as well

Got mine in 2009. They had a link to provide your information and looks like they have a maintenance message now.
Try giving them a call. The live.com site that hosts the alumni email addresses are sponsored by the alumni association.

The alumni associations IT department is completely separate from the main IT department. It was always hell trying to deal with them.

I'm pretty sure that once they moved the @tigers.lsu.edu to Gmail, your email will last forever.

Got this email a few days ago.

quote:

University procedures allowed your PAWS account to remain active for
three major semesters after your graduation in order to facilitate
your smooth transition from LSU. Unfortunately, the transition
period for your account is now over and LSU must begin the steps to
deactivate your PAWS account and the e-mail services that come with
it.

In approximately 30 days from now, you will no longer be able to login
to PAWS. In approximately 60 days from now, your PAWS account will be
deleted from our e-mail system. Please take this opportunity to let
your contacts know that your LSU e-mail address will be deactivated.

Because you are a graduate of the University, you are eligible to take
advantage of a free e-mail service that is sponsored by the LSU Alumni
Association and the LSU Foundation and hosted by Microsoft. What's
great about this e-mail offering is that you can pick your e-mail
address (it's first come, first served). The domain will be
@alumni.lsu.edu.

We recommend you obtain a @alumni.lsu.edu or other e-mail account and
start forwarding your LSU e-mail to it. You can register a forwarding
address by logging into PAWS, selecting "Personal Preferences" then
clicking "LSU Email". LSU will not automatically transfer old messages
or contacts to the forwarding address. Forwarding will cease once
your PAWS account is deleted.

If you are interested in setting up the free Alumni e-mail service,
then you must first release your student information to the LSU
Foundation and Alumni Association. You can do this by going to the
following Web site:

LINK

Once your data is in the Alumni database, you can go to the following
Web site to register for your Alumni e-mail account:

LINK

Please e-mail helpdesk@alumni.lsu.edu if you have questions about the
Alumni e-mail service. Call the LSU ITS Help Desk at 225-578-3375 if
you have questions about your PAWS account.

We hope that you enjoyed your time at LSU and the use of PAWS. Best
of luck to you on your future endeavors!
