Have a program with three football nattys in the BCS era
Hire a hotshot AD
Watch hotshot AD hire top caliber coaches in every sport
Recruit high character athletes wanting a degree
Make being at LSU an honor because we win everything
Those universities who model a winning tradition will thrive
Time will tell but, in my opinion, Woodward is adapting quickly thus far
The question that remains is how we will do with recruiting the right athletes

You don’t beat NIL, you join it.

Just match what others are doing and your premise on performance becomes the deciding factor. Kids are thinking money first, so you have to be competitive there first and then a winning program seals the deal.

With teams like A&M dishing amount more money than everyone it’s going to be like bear Bryant where top notch players are going to be 2nd and 3rd string, but now they have the transfer portal and at the end of the day they need to play to make it to the league. I could imagine some boosters will be pissed when they invest so much in a player that will transfer ultimately but it’s bound to happen at the rate A&M is going

Gotta get ahead of the curve. I say we pay 50 more guys to come play as walkons in addition to the 25 signees. No need for a scholarship anymore so we bring in quantity and quality.

Will work even better with baseball.

It’s a new world - You do NIL

Find/Raise $ and pay $

That said, if you’re the NIL employer, you have a contingency contract in place. Pay for performance and tenure.

I don't know how the rules work, but I suspect there will be a lot of "the official ____ of LSU Athletics" marketing going on.

Meaning, LSU pays some business to be "a partner", and that payment then goes to NIL deals. I'm sure they will have to word it just right, but it's going to have to go down that way. You can count on some boosters, but not every business is going to spend millions on getting LSU's players for them. Not every year, which is needed.

Hopefully chicken partners with the teams. I wouldn't mind signing up for a program that charges me monthly for signed LSU NFTs.

And when you pay and they don’t play, they walk.
Unless since they hv been paid the NIL laws prevent them from transferring.

Honestly the whole thing just guts what made college football so special to me over the last 50 years. It’s a totally different animal that I really don’t have much interest in following anymore. This shite is the reason I quit watching the NFL years ago.

This is the fault of the NCAA if they were not so stubborn and twenty years behind time they could have seen this coming .
The could have gone into action and set standards for a proper program . This is not equal for anyone the rich keep getting richer.

Great point that the NIL contracts may become the anchors that keep kids from transferring if they have tenure escalators. However, boy is it going to be muddy when sponsors start point-blank pressuring (bribing?) coaches to get their guy on the field more often. I can imagine the CEO of Tabasco calling CBK and TELLING him to not take Walker Howard out in the 2nd half of blowouts or else Tabasco will “sponsor” Howard’s transfer to another school. This likely is going to be the wild west

Lol talk about living in a fantasy world. If I’m offered a million dollars to play in the SEC, but LSU doesn’t offer me a penny but says “hey we have great high paid coaches and it’s an honor to play for LSU”. Guess where I’m not going? Yea LSU can fork out millions to coaches but screw the players and NIL. OP is just retarded. Lotta thought went into it also which is scary.oh and btw what do you mean by the “right” athlete? White kids who’s parents don’t need the money? You see it’s easy af to talk chit when you have money(kinda like Hollywood actors that everyone hates). So how would we do with your fantasy athlete? We’d be worse than Vandy that’s how. We’d suck

There it is. There’s the racial talk. Can’t have any discussion about any topic without mentioning race.
