So what is the excuse for him not getting the play in huddle?

He is very young give him time to mature before we throw him to the hounds that are the LSU fanbase because the first bad game from hin and they will want to run him outta town just like many blindly say Jennings is just like JJ

These guys are young, and we also have a lot of things we need to work on. We should not stop throwing even if we are up by 30. I'd say maybe with 10-12 minutes in the fourth left, is when we should see Harris and the backup WRs. Jennings, the TEs, WRs, and Fournette need a lot of reps. Even then, we should be passing until the last possession. Use these games to their full advantage.

We do need to see guys like Bain, Herron, Gilmore, and Godchaux in though. I'd like to see Feist and hopefully even Garrett at some point.

Will Fournette follow his blocks? Can Welter dominate versus lower competition? Will Brandon Harris play in the 1st quarter?

Les Miles's teams always play down to the competition plus the starters need reps.

Starters in till 4th quarter then mop up play starts.

A lot, they need game reps.
Agree- Everyone needs more snaps, this is one year where we have so many new faces, can't afford to start putting in second stringers too early.

Haven't heard about the suspensions but with so many young starters the first team will play at least half the game and probably more. Good game to work on timing for the offense and tackling for the defense. SHS has a couple of SEC quality players on offense.

This game will be closer for longer than people think, but we pull away in the late 3rd/4th quarter.

Sam Houston is a very good FCS team who will run our defense hard.

I would guess a lot, for two reasons. One, they need it. Two, other than against NW State in 2011, every time in recent years when we have played one of these FCS schools, it's been a sloppy game and has taken us a while to put it away. Furman 2013, Towson 2012 and McNeese 2010 all kept it fairly close for most of the game. I guess it's just difficult to keep focus for a game you know there's no realistic chance of losing. Given the youth of this year's team, I wouldn't be surprised if it is just as difficult this week. Or who knows? Maybe this young team will be fired up for its home opener and look great. After all, NW State in 2011 was a home opener, while all the others were later in the season. Maybe that will make a difference.

And will we see RR, Porter, and Bain back from their suspensions?

Sure hope so.

OL needs reps. QB needs reps. WRs need reps. LF needs reps.

DTs need reps. Hunter needs reps. All LBs except Kwon need reps.

And Sam Houston St has some pretty good skill players... gonna do a thread on them soon.

I watched them on Aug 23 at EWU, they lost 56-35, then they beat Alabama ST 51-20 at home. If we secure victory soon, which we should, I hope they let the 2nd and 3rd teamers play at least a quarter and a half. Just me, we can work on more things against ULM who beat Wake Forest. Not that they should hang with us, but they are better than SHSU in my opinion. Then get ready for a tough game against State at home. I know what many will say(streak), but they are maybe better than Badgers. Just saying, but many think we have 4 cupcakes in a row at home, and you guys should be 75% correct.
