Everthing i have.

I'm an alum, which is more than 98% of this board can say.

How can you not invest everything you have? It hurts sometimes. But that just makes all the victories THAT much more joyful.

Far too much. Obviously anyone here does too.

I thought I made peace with things this year, but dammit I'm buying in!

Die Hards - Religious experience.

Casual fans - Just a game

Myself: Die Hard. Been a part of my life from as early I could remember. Would Love to retire just following the Tigers 3 major sports including away games. Always thought that would be a blast.

Can't believe this got 6 up votes and zero down.

I guess at about age 45, I grew out of that, but about a year ago, i started a thread about how boorish my behavior had been during games, with the qualifier added that I'd never display that behavior if kids were around, or we were at a party or some such. If a person would have read just the responses to the description of my behavior, he'd have been convinced that I came here to seek help for the inability to control my arousal and desire for farm animals. I. Got. Hammered.
You get pissed when LSU either loses or plays bad. So what. Admittedly, I didn't need to let the outcome of a game played by 20 year olds to upset me. By the same token, if people don't care who wins, why eardh the game?

Very little since the 2011 season, it made me examine my obsession and put it in its place. I enjoy Saturdays much better now.

I was way too serious as a kid, but Jarrett Lee's freshman season taught me that it really is just a game. Sitting through that season in high school was an eye opener as to how ridiculous grown men and women can act, and the fact that it's okay to booze before the game

Cried as a kid, got mad and slung stuff in HS. Now I just shake my head since the players or damn near my age I don't care as much. The depression level all depends on if the saints lose the next day too. Perfect formula for a horrible Monday and terrible week. I'm usually back good by Thursday because of the next game.

I was so damn invested each and every game right up until Bama of 2013. I kinda detached after that one a bit. I was a gradual process of not closing and last minute defeats that just kind of shut me down for a while. I quit watching an LSU game before it was over for the first time ever when we played Notre Dame because I knew what was coming. More than anything the two minute defense had become reliably porous and I just couldn't be surprised or invested anymore. I have hope for a new vigor this season.

I would rather get dumped by the love of my life and the saints lose every game for a decade than lose on Saturdays.....

More than I should, but not nearly as much as in the past. I've certainly mellowed with age.

I used to invest way too much, but as I've found over the years, watching a Les Miles coached team is a highly volatile experience and a roller coaster ride. His teams are the Epitome of inconsistency - one moment looking like world beaters and then the next game or even series looking like they can't even make a first down. Add to all that the coaching blunders and game mistakes and crazy, goofy interviews and you've got a man who definitely you should not emotionally invest in as he will drive you crazy.

Now I just laugh when the clusters happen and move on, I still cheer like hell when good stuff happens, Now you never know what to expect so it makes the watching experience a stressful and aggravating experience so you can't get too invved emotionally.

I used to get emotional before and after the game, and then ride the high or the low for the rest of the week

2010 tennessee game changed that. now I'm pretty emotional during the game but once it's over it's over.. especially on a loss.

Do you shrug it off after a loss

For the most part I do. Some certainly sting more than others (bama last year for example), but I really try to enjoy the whole experience. It isn't JUST about the result of the game. Whether home or away, LSU football is part of my life and with just about everything else, I won't let it consume me. I love taking spending time with friends and family on campus for games and hanging out when they're on the road. I love the road trips we take. None of that changes because LSU loses.

I greive ! I don't play the blame game though, a game is full of missed tackles being out of position, poor footing in an important moment a wrong call in the wrong defense stupid one way calls by referees ,I do not like sec referees , they give me plenty to vent about , I do rejoice at the rare call that goes our way,it doesn't happen against bama or stinking auburn !under Coach Miles the times have been good and I try to concentrate on the good and put the bad behind me , Geaux Tigers it is another great season coming up and I am pumped !.

As I rewatch the Wisconsin game, I remember the the extreme emotiona ups and downs estatic to finish ahead. Do you shrug it off after a loss and just get toasted, or do you start yelling wondering wtf miles and coaches were thinking? How do you react to a Tigers loss?

I am as intense of a MF'er as anyone watching the games...no fun to be around for the wife. I will be exhausted afterwards if at the stadium and can never relax until a big lead is in hand if watching on TV.

I thought I had grown out of it being almost forty now.

But damn I'll be honest I went outside and threw stuff when we lost to Bama last year.

Then I cam back inside and was my calm self again.

I guess you could say I'm way better than in my twenties, but the passion is still just under the surface and I have to intentionally hold it in check at the most emotional moments.

I mostly do now. That Bama game was a big exception. At least I did it in private.
