I used to invest a hell of a lot emotionally into games...if we lost, I'd be pissed for a week...

that all changed on 1/9...while walking from the dome to my hotel, I decided that I would never let a sporting event make me feel like that again...

Pleeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz dude come on! I can tell by your tone and certain posts that 1/9 still rubs you the wrong way.....as it should with any fan. That doesn't mean you're thinking about it every day but when its thrown up in your face it still stings.

I have noticed a long time ago that the sun will come up whether LSU wins or loses. So I made a "sunrise" rule for myself. I'll be disappointed or elated until sunrise the next day. There are just two exceptions: When LSU beats Alabama or Ole Miss I celebrate for an additional day.

Same here. Walking out the dome and hearing Rammer Jammer changed me, honestly.

It was like a walk of shame back to the hotel. Some Asian Bama fan asked me for my ticket after the game and I told him to go F himself. Got back to the hotel and read all the shite ULL fans were saying, deleted my Facebook.

Woke up the next day and realized how much of an idiot I was and promised not to allow myself to lose it over a game I can't control.

I'm doing fine since then

Well damn Peej. Everybody doesn't have your steely-eyed demeanor and indefatigable awesome-isity.

I still had my head in the gas oven on day three and didn't remove the forks from my eyes until day eleven.

And now I've been triggered.

I used to scream, throw and break stuff. I still scream a little at the tv. Hurtful losses like bama bother me for several days. The big wins don't last as long as painful losses. It used to be "life", now, I keep things in perspective. I won't lie, the Sunday morning sun shines brighter after a tiger victory.

In the Miles era, this has been my emotional progression
Rabid
Excited
Enjoyment
Non chelant
This year- completely sick of disciphering some foreign language to try and hold on to some morsel of a lie about what we will or will not see. I hate it but I'm done with miles. I'll show up Saturday and cheer like hell every week but I have waaay too much to do other than try to figure out his foolishness

One of my best high school friends is an Auburn grad and another one is a Bama grad (frickin douche). They have had a lot of fun over the last few years sending me constant reminders/zingers about our misfortunes against both teams...particularly the gumps.
Its almost more than I can bear at times.

No joke. 1/9 pretty much killed my overly emotional investment. I was pissed for weeks. I barely spoke the next day. I really had a hard time getting excited the following season.

It's been better. I had a great time in Houston last year, and while I'm glad we won, I wouldn't have been overly upset had we not.

As bad as the 1/9 loss was I was more upset with the Bama fan teabagging one of our fans with NO LSU fans there to help... I still want to kick that PUNKS arse. Heck with his so-called jailtime and how he screwed up his life... MESS with one of MY FANS and you answer to me...... When I get done his momma wouldn't recognize him...
