That is wrong. Our odds of beating Auburn will significantly rise if we play NTU. How can you not see that?

i agree our odds are beating auburn would rise if we play NT this saturday, but that certainly doesn't make playing this week a necessity..it still remains a luxury

LSU doesn't need to play this week, as much as we all want them to

OK, I'm glad you see the point. And I hear what you are saying about it not being a necessity, but you do see why everyone really, really, really wants to play this game? And because the Appy game didn't really give me the "fix" I needed, and the DT's are starting up again, this game is a necessity for me.

oh, no doubt

i just also thnk there are other things to consider and the "play at all costs" mentality is foolish

depending on the track of this storm, you are asking ALOT of these kids to just tune it out and go beat north texas handily so the fans are happy and at the same time keep your focus on that game to prepare for auburn the very next week

IMO, season is spoiled if we don't play this weekend ... no chance we can repeat with 12 consecutive weeks of playing

Equating a "failure to repeat" with a "spoiled season" is at the outer fringes of Tiger delusionism.

I think moving the game to dallas would be dumb. Gustav already messed up one weekend of college football...please dont mess up another...

If the storm stays on it's present track, it will hit the Texas/La. border, therefore dousing Dallas in heavy rain as a tropical storm. Either way you lose.

The reliable models --- the same ones that did a good job on Gustav --- are predicting a Vermilion Bay landfall with a northern track late Friday evening or early Saturday morning. I really don't think you can plan on a game in B.R. Sat.

our GOAL is to win the BCSNC & SEC championship...we can have a fine season without it but not accomplishing those things would "spoil" our goal

LSU needs to come up with a contingency plan where they assign a Superdome seat to every Tiger Stadium seat so there wouldn't be mass confusion. Set up a website where you can cross reference your section and print it out.

You know that 70,000 LSU season ticket holders wouldn't all make the trip, so you would only have to assign the lower 2 levels to the TAF and season ticket holders with the highest standing. Then use the entire upper bowl in the Dome as "general admission" first come first serve for all others.

Being from Shreveport makes me near-sighted where the Tigers are concerned. I dont think its a bad idea to play at Ind. Stadium. Yes, its a smaller venue (50,000) but its still gonna be home cooking and a closer drive than Dallas and its inherent traffic cluster-fuk. We may not be part of LA in the eyes of a lot of S. LA. coonasses, but we would strongly support the Tigers up here (see Indy Bowls 95 and 97).

the eye of the storm is headed straight for or just west of Dallas and Shreveport, playing there would be a horrible decision.

Thais game has to be played somewhere this week. LSU can't afford to give up another bye week. I guess nobody remembers 2005?

Yes, we do, and not merely because playing this weekend will improve our chances of defeating Auburn.

We need to play this game (in Tiger Stadium if at all possible) because the LSU athletic department depends upon the revenue of home football games. The only way the LSU athletic department can meet its budget is by playing the requisite minimum number of home games. Revenue from home games doesn't simply benefit the football program, it essentially funds all of the other sports which aren't fiscally self-sustaining. Revenue from home football games ensures that the athletic department can contribute excess funds to the university at large, rather than siphoning funds from the university at large.

This isn't a trivial matter of beating Auburn, it is the lifeblood of the athletic department.

The game will be played. Alleva has said as much. The only question is location.

Play it in Tiger Stadium - East, a.k.a. Ga Dome! Seems like we've had a great record there other than the 2005 SECCG when our guys were worn out from playing so many games in a row.

Wonder how they would distribute tickets?
