I'd prefer to play a team ranked higher than LSU. Nebraska is not even ranked in any of the polls.

So, no, I hope we don't play Nebraska.

the infamous 6-6 tie at TS 76

Yeah, I remember that one. The second game I ever saw in Tiger Stadium.

We coulda won that one.

I was also at the 1985 Sugar Bowl in the Dome. We looked good, and then the machines just took over. Back then it seems all the big strong linemen came out of the Midwest. Glad it has changed.

I'd like to see LSU play Nebraska, but not in a bowl game this year. They suck and the name just doesn't carry the clout that it used to.

So would us all but unfortunitely LSU is not in the catbird seat to pick and choose the ideal oppenant for us now. That's what losing to an inferior OPiss team did or would be in better pecking order.
CLM admitted even as such he did not have them prepared for that game and spare me the "he doesn't play QB stuff" they were flat the entire game. I am not advocating firing him either just wish he would get them more focused for every game for our $4.5M/Y outlay.
The task now is to line up and play whoever they are lined up and come out of this thing 10-3!

Agreed. i like playing the traditional powers in bowl games - Notre Dame, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, OSU,still hoping for Michigan, etc are more exciting than playing the flavor of the week Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Iowa's.

I attended the one in '87. Nebraska was a machine in those days; they just wore teams down with their strength.

From what I've heard, it was more from Arnsparger letting his team run wild in New Orleans in the days and nights before the game.

Ha- Maybe so! That was his last game at LSU before taking over the AD job at Florida...

Oh- And I agree about Michigan. That's a series / bowl I'd love to see happen, as well....Huge program; amazing we've never crossed paths with them....
