There's nothing bonehead about not wanting Les Miles to replace an athletic director who's actually turning our athletic department into a powerhouse.
What exactly did Skip Bertman accomplish outside of the priority point system (which actually inevitably led to the prices increases you guys bicker about) that made you feel he's vastly superior to Joe Alleva?

He didn't hire nick saban, yvette, pat henry, or john brady. In fact he LET Pat Henry walk, who'd probably have given LSU an additional 10 national championships to his trophy case. He let LSU hire Smoke Laval.
Oh, be he did hire Pokey Chatman, who ruined the program because she scissored everything in her path on campus.
Have you seen the west side expansion he handled? Sorry, but Alex Box is not as nicest stadium in college baseball either. shite he brought old bleachers from the previous stadium over. Has that ever happened in a brand new stadium?
He's phenomenal coach, a great person, and I thank him for what he did at LSU as a coach. That doesn't mean I have to live in a fairy tale where I think he was an elite athletic director.

So you're okay with him letting Pat Henry walk, the softball program's decline, hiring a perv as the women's basketball coach, hand picking the laziest fat frick the baseball program has ever seen, and overseeing cheaply done athletic projects because he "oversaw" one epic year of program he had nothing to do with?

it has nothing to do with LSU and what he's accomplished here. He's a class act, and people are human. UVA is arguably the best university in the South, and they handled their rape case far worse. I don't think that means the UVA administration is inept, but I'm not that dense to make those assumptions anyways.

Horrible idea.
I've never understood the hatred that Alleva receives and likely never will. If people aren't happy with Alleva running the show I can't imagine the riots that would occur with bumblin' Les running a multi-hundred-million dollar endeavor like LSU athletics.

their rationale is that Skip bertman was such a phenomenal athletic director and Joe Alleva is a failure. What in the actual frick do I read on here sometimes?

Bleachers simply shouldn't be installed in a brand new college baseball stadium. That's a beyond reasonable request-especially for a program like LSU.
Take a look at Baum Stadium if you want to see what the standard for college baseball is.
Anyways, there's overwhelming evidence that Skip Bertman wasn't a good athletic director, and he sure as hell doesn't look good when stacked up to what Alleva has done. We'll just agree to disagree, just pointing out that LSU's athletic program is stronger than ever. There's seriously no point in wanting Alleva gone.
