Aranda can stay as long as he wants. If Canada does for the offense what Aranda did for the defense, he can stay too.

Aranda supposedly promised his wife/kids he would be here for 5 years to get them through school. FWIW.

LSU would be very fortunate to have Aranda for 5 years. Worth every penny

Aranda will be a D.C. In the show sooner than we want him to be.

What you mean? The SEC is the show.

I think Aranda is a much better fit as an NFL DC than he his a head coach at the college level. I don't see him as the face of a program and having to be a lead recruiter either. Dude is an unbelievable defensive mind
Your HC doesn't have to be an elite recruiter, he just has to hire a couple.

That's a lot easier than hiring an elite coordinator.

That's why I thought it would have made more sense to hire Aranda as the HC, when they pushed Les out. Take a step back in terms of organizational experience, but you're aiming at a similar setup as with Nick Saban- elite defense will be a hallmark of the team, success will breed recruiting (top players want to play in that system). Reasonable autonomy given to the offense, as long as it doesn't compromise the defense (nothing with a lot of 3 and out potential; strong ground game to focus on time of possession). Basically, gameplan to win every game 20 to 6, and have the pieces in place to do it. Have a big play plan in place, to stretch the lead in key spots, and break the opponent's back.

Les had this approach, the players on offense to grind down a D, with top WRs to strike faster when he wanted.

If you gave him the defense to hold a team to 10, he would win (and he usually did). It was a matter of finding that D... Aranda would always have that, he'd need to find the complimentary offense.

I have no idea what Orgeron wants to do, he's completely dependent on both coordinators.

We'll revolutionize the game with 3 co-head coaches. With O being the lowest paid HC in the SEC, we can offer an extra $1.5-$2 mil per coordinator.

Not sure what he can learn from Ed- how to further your career by being the guy who stays and runs things when your boss gets fired? How to agree to basically anything the AD says in negotiations, in order to get/keep the job? How to surround yourself with more capable coaches, so you can reap the benefits?

I wonder what the halftime interviews will be like.

Reporter: Coach O, what will your offense need to do to score more points?

CEO: I'll have to ask Canada.

Reporter: What about the defense?

CEO: I'll have to ask Aranda.

His oldest was born in 2006, so I don't think this is necessarily true, but I hope he stays until at least all of his kids finish HS.
