I agree, except I was thinking Miles would hire Aranda at Bama or New England.

Probably a troll, but it really wouldn't surprise me if Aranda jumps to the first good gig he gets. We kept him on staff when we fired Miles, so of course he'd stay then; but he's now working for a different guy than the one who brought him in.

Miles offered the chance to work under a guy who won a title, was established, and would give him autonomy to run the defense.

Not sure what he can learn from Ed- how to further your career by being the guy who stays and runs things when your boss gets fired? How to agree to basically anything the AD says in negotiations, in order to get/keep the job? How to surround yourself with more capable coaches, so you can reap the benefits?

He doesn't have ties here, I think he's gone sooner, not later.

At this time last year O was learning from his boss Dave Aranda. Talk about a unforeseen switch a year later.

Two, if we're extremely lucky.

One, most likely.

Wow. Lots of two's.

If beat bama once in those two years, win natty that one year, no one will mind.

I have it at two, too. SEC champs!

Aranda will get offered 2.5 a year to coach an NFL defense and not have to recruit.

LSU should do everything in its power to keep Aranda around. I wonder if in some way or another LSUs has worked a head coach in waiting situation in Arandas contract.

Aranda will stay here until an NFL or good College HC job comes along.

He isn't leaving LSU for anything less because he has autonomy on this D and great players to utilize.

I'm saying that it could be similar to the Luke Riley/Stoops situation. I'd certainly feel comfortable with Aranda being the HC in the near future.

It could very well be Aranda's last year, but enlighten us on this sinking ship you are referring to.

I wanted LSU to hire Aranda as head coach after they fired Les. I am not saying that I don't like Ogeron, I just thought that Aranda was to important to lose.

I think Aranda is a much better fit as an NFL DC than he his a head coach at the college level. I don't see him as the face of a program and having to be a lead recruiter either. Dude is an unbelievable defensive mind and I hope we can keep him as long as possible. As for Coach Canada, if he's leaving for a head coaching position in 2-3 years then we very well should have a National championship back in Baton Rouge. My hope is that when he leaves we don't take a step backwards. This will sound super "rant-ish" but hopefully Kiffin fails as a HC again and we replace Canada with Kiffin.

It depends a lot on how successful the Tigers are the next season or two. If the defense remains dominant and the offense becomes a reality, it might be just a year or two max. Then, we'll see what Orgeron is truly made of.
