If anybody really thought this team was a year away after Mettenberger, Hill, OBJ, and Landry left then I just don't know what to say. Jennings was a first-year starter and didn't provide any indication that it would be based on his performances against Arkansas or Iowa.

I"ll admit, 182 total yards of LSU offense was something I never saw coming.

Last night was a pseudo playoff game and we were eliminated once again by Bama. I'm tired of losing to them. It will take a fluke for LSU to get back into the SEC champ game to have a shot at the NCG.
Ole Miss beat Alabama and they're no closer to either the SECCG or the NCG. You all adjust your mindset since the CFP replaced the computerized BCS. The Pac-12, Big Ten, and Big 12 all have the important games back-loaded in their seasons. It's going to get bumpy. TCU already fell and Baylor still has to face them and OSU. tOSU still has to face Mich. St and Michigan two pretty good defensive squads. Btw, Mich. St just lost. It may be a long shot but, it's certainly not over yet.

My type is still focused on this year as opposed to your "one loss and done types". I never said anything about next year if this is a response to my post. I still think this team can have a 10-1 regular season. They certainly have the chance to. I wouldn't be too disappointed about it either as it appears some of you would.
Next, year is not a given. Injuries, losses to the NFL, it's way too hard to tell. I waited too long for this season to just stop 4 games short of the conclusion.

Who really cares about auburn?

Well this team is not even close quite frankly, so what's your point? We may very well lose two more - Arky, elderly miss.

Saban is constantly looking to exploit every possible advantage. Like Miles, he professes an emphasis on dictating the game, but he doesn't do so based on some rah rah platitudes about the strength of his Men, etc. -- he does it in every possible facet he can get an advantage on. He doesn't just hope his team can dominate, he does everything possible to adapt while relying on his core competencies.
Miles comes from a culture of a bygone era at Michigan that his career exemplifies. Bo Schembechler never won a national title but he had a lot of relatively successful 2-loss, 3-loss seasons. So in his mind, it's okay. And he has too much hubris to change his approach. The rust belt, workmanlike philosophy defines who he is, and that's fine, but it's all he is. And it's distinctly different from a win-at-all-costs mentality.
I can understand having a down year now and then if you run into bad luck with a lackluster QB, but this bullshite about this being a lagniappe season is just a loser mentality. I realize LSU fans can be apoplectic at times, but every game of every season, you and a few other knuckleheads come on here to wax poetic about how bad LSU fans are, chiding us all like we are petulant schoolchildren. It's like you derive some sense of self validation because you think you're a more positive fan than others. This thread, however, is an interesting new angle. It's like getting your hopes up as a fan and being frustrated with the way things are run when it collapses once again makes 90% of the fanbase shitty fans. And you're better/more intelligent than others because you consider this a lagniappe year. Very bizarre mentality to have.

We are still a playoff contender.
Alabama's loss was MUUUUUCH worse than LSU's loss.
There are 3 games + Conf. Title Games left......

Most folks I see coming out of the woodwork aren't saying anything out of line.
They're saying what was clearly evident to the nation last night. LSU is weaker, smaller, and outcoached by Alabama. I still think we're better than everyone else in the SEC, but that isn't saying much this year.

It is a success. But in a weak SEC and losing to the same team year in, year out gets really old.

I thought 8-4 or 9-3. Now I think we win out

Seriously, frick off.
We're mad. We're mad because we lost to bama for a 5th straight time, and according to you if anyone shows the slightest disappointment with that fact, that somehow makes us obsessed with bama.
It makes no sense, doesn't help anything, and is more annoying than any negatiger post.
Are you EVER disappointed with a loss? Or is everything always sunshine and roses in your world?
I'm not saying anyone needs to be fired (except BDP) and I still think we could have a great finish to the season, but this "we didn't think we'd be this good anyway so anyone who is upset is bamasessed" crap is the worst.

While I do think that we can rebound and have an excellent year this year by any program's standards, this one stung. And it's going to be a long time before it doesn't sting any more... Despite being an avid supporter of Miles, I've come to the realization that he's not a guy that can go toe-to-toe with Saban on an annual basis.
I'm not sure that person exists in college football coaching circles.

The problem is, no one wants to take it one game at a time anymore.

Here come the Miles' boot lickers.
I find this comment funny. A few days ago I made a comment that if or when LSU were to lose, the Miles haters would crawl out of the woodwork in full force. And by god you negative nancys have really made your presence known.
I don't know your post history but I don't seem to recall your username showing up on the rant very often. Not much to say (piss & moan about) when the team is winning, right?
