I just watched the replay of the SECCG vs Georgia. JJ had a horrible night and a precursor of what was to come in the NCG. 5 completed out of 13 for a pathetic 30 yards.

My point being Mett shouldn't feel any pressure to be an RGIII.

I don't think it will be too many based upon LSU's history since the pick 6 wild 2008 season. It seems Les even with crappy quarterback play made throwing an int not a regularity. JJ really stumbled hard those first 5 games in 2010 but imo LSU's game-plan on offense has become extremely precise in whatever they run. A de-emphasis of deep passes out of a shotgun set greatly reduces the defenses chances of siting in zones and picking off passes. With a better passer and more passes being thrown, the possibility of INTS goes up, but LSU's power run game will bring safeties and linebackers closer to the line of scrimmage while offering tons of 1 on 1 match-ups which gives any quarterback a much higher percentage of a low INT count.

I say Mett throws 4-5 ints 1 pick 6

If he can have a TD/INT ratio that's bigger than 3:1, then I will be pretty happy to swallow a number of picks. Hopefully no pick 6 though.

What's important is that he not loose confidence in himself after throwing a pick6 a la J. Lee. I believe he's far enough along that he will keep his composure after he throws a pick6 which he will unless they do him like JJ and only let him throw safe passes. Matt Flynn threw a few and Brett Favre holds the NFL record for interceptions.

Matt Flynn threw 11 picks in 2007. If mett throws for 2500 yards or more he will have at least 10 picks. The rest of you are ridiculous in your predictions. A guy who has never thrown 20 Division one passes is going to throw for 5 - 7 picks and 3,000 yards in the sec? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see it. If he throws only 7 picks then he probably has around two thousand yds at most.

Tyler Wilson's first year he had 3600yd 24tds 6ints in the SEC

McCarron had 2600yd 16tds 5ints in his first

Mett has played at least a full year of some type(JUCO) college ball. These guys played in like one or two games before they were given then reins to an SEC team.

With Townson, Washington, NT, Idaho, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss St, and Arkansas on the schedule he definitely will do at least 2600yds 23tds 8ints

It will be interesting to see how much Les allows him to throw against, say, Towson or North Texas. We conceivably win those games by 50 without throwing a pass, and Les likes to not embarrass the opposing teams too much.
That being said, I recall Kragthorpe saying in an interview that our dominance last year hurt our passing game ultimately. He listed Ole Miss as an example, that they had a number of plays designed, but we never used them since the game was such a rout.

no shite...why do these kids start threads like these? They are about as stupid as you can get on here. There is absolutely no way to know this crap, and it's a waste of time even guessing.

He'll be throwing alot of deeper balls so pick 6's will be hard to come by.
Maybe he throws between 7-10 picks all year.
