The violations weren't for Porter. They were on the old WR coach McCarthy.

With their advance wealth and advancements in modern science it's not crazy to think they could live to 150 years old?

Miles could be here another 10+ years.

Chief, unless he gets more money to be a DC at another school or in the NFL, isn't going anywhere. He doesn't want to be a head coach.

Under normal circumstances, Krags would have been out of here after this year, but I hear that he'll be looking to stay here as long as his health allows him to. The improvement in the offense and QB play is thanks in large part to him.

The OC may be moving on at some point (maybe even this year). But I see him being here at least one more year.

The combination of Miles + Chief + Krags has the potential to be dynasty-like.

As the newb here, how secure are we with Tommy Moffitt?? I would think someone has to be offering him?? That would be a huge loss.

We need to invest more money in Cooper to keep him. A few hundred thousand extra will pay for itself easy with secondaries like this. I think Cooper and Chavis are the keys to this team...maybe the greatest college football team to ever play. Seriously

Moffit has beenwith LSU for a while so it seems he is happy here. He deserves a lot of credit for having these guys physically ready.

Ask yourselves, would you leave this LSU winning college football program next year. Now that you have it just the way you want it. Or any time soon. It not exactly a rose garden out there?

This is my feeling as well. The team is young, the recruiting will be easier with success, and several of the coaches have settled into career ego rewarding positions. Leave the Purple & Golden Goose at your own risk.

I thought that he had, just couldn't remember where.

Cooper has also been a head coach - Eastern Michigan, Louisville (everybody forgets he was between Schellenberger and John L. Smith, who was HC at Louisville right before Petrino), and Alabama A&M - Brick Haley's Alma Mater.

Haley is the one to worry about - he's been a DL coach in the NFL. He was the DC at Baylor and he' still in his mid-40s - he's the most likely to take a DC job or go back to the NFL.

Frank will be here and will be OC with Krag in 2 years. His talents are so well suited here it's ridiculous. He's the world's best person and salesman, and he's selling something the marketplace (LA) already loves (LSU Football), win-win.

I don't want anything like a "HC in waiting", because I think it's silly. Having said that, I'm ready for the powers that be to start grooming Frank Wilson to be the next LSU head coach.

I've always thought that Coop was the most likely to leave and get another shot at being a DC. you bring up an interesting point with Brick, though. prior to last yr, I thought he was more of a recruiter than a good DL coach, but he's starting to crank out monsters.

if I'm someone like Texas A&M, I'd give either some serious consideration for my DC job.

We need Wilson. He's the avenue to the river parishes talent that has become the backbone of this team. We need to offer him the house if he asks for it, at least for a few more years.

I would think Randy Shannon, former Miami head coach would be the top choice. Opens up Florida recruiting in addition to Texas to aTm.

Wow! We're having a reasonably intelligent conversation with no retards or flamers.

You don't know what you're talking about and you're a fricking idiot.

It had to be done!

Now, back to serious man-talk. One of the keys to getting everything to click is Moffit's phenomenal job in getting the guys conditioned. Losing him because he moves up to a bigger role isn't very likely, but is there anyone out there that would show up on his front door with a giant bag'o'cash and snipe him away?

Edit: Sorry, this question was already asked.

Moffitt has been with LSU since Nick Saban. He stayed at LSU when Saban left. Has stayed at LSU since even though he has received numerous offers to leave. His mentees are SC coaches in the SEC. He could almost pick his SC gig in college football. He chooses LSU.

I think as a whole LSU has one of the best coaching staffs ever this year. I've always felt that Miles was the type of coach that let the position coaches do their jobs and our strengths would be dependent upon those position coaches. Coach Cooper and Chavis as a defensive Combo are as good as it gets. I would hope that we do what ever is possible to keep them both, although I'd guess that Cooper will take a DC job or maybe even a HC job somewhere. Wilson has been not only incredible with our recruiting, but honestly has done a really good job with our backs as well. He might be gone sooner then we think, I really hope he stays though. Krags has been great and I think he will stay like I think Chavis will.

It's not like we have a bunch of young up and comers on the coaching staff that will be getting head coaching gigs soon. The staff is loaded with well-experienced coaches that have been around and just flat out know how to coach football. Most have been given the shot at a head coaching gig before but their careers have led them here, and will stay as long as they are getting paid fairly and we are winning.

I think this is true for the most part, but who knows how these guys will react if the "perfect" HC gig comes along and they throw some major $ their way.
