Before, during, and after the hire of our current HC, a number of favorite coaching named were trotted out ad infinitum as the “right” fit for LSU. Among them were Herman, Gruden, and Jimbo. Plus an assortment of others. In past times it’s also been Butch, but not so much lately.

Anyway, it occurs to me a mid season status check of each coach and his team would be in order. Whatcha got?

Maybe coaching is like a box of chocolates? As in, you never know what you’re gonna get?

Whoever said this needs to never discuss football or any athletics for that matter ever again

I get where you're coming from and agree with the premise. the fact is, we really DON'T KNOW if O is going to be successful or not. I happen to believe that he will be a very good coach for LSU but I just don't know for sure. I think he knows football and has the character to improve himself and his team.

what many people don't know is HOW FOOTBALL COACH SEARCHES WORK. these people refuse to be objective and make outrageous statements that they cannot prove but continue to convince themselves they are true. they will never like O because the search was not transparent (for reasons obvious to any one with a brain) and O did not have the "proper" pedigree for a program of LSU's stature.

these people continue to annoy the hell out of me. for this reason (plus being an alum) I want O to be uber successful so he can shoot these close minded, hypocrite, arse hats the bird.

They annoy you, because they're correct in their assessment. You're acting like an emotional little girl.

There was no search, Orgeron was hired /thread

He had one of the worst SEC head coaching records ever coming in, so I agree with that statement

Thanks for clearing that up. I would have never got that if you didn’t spell it out.

Still would take any coach besides O.

It's taken a missed XP and a huge comeback, that includes a punt return for a TD to get O a couple of wins. I'll give him credit, as he is the head coach and although I think it's more due to him staying out of things the last 2 weeks after the meetings with Alleva and the coordinators, I'll give him the credit.

Although, fans of his, like you and O himself, give the blame to everyone else when he loses and take all the credit when he wins, so it shouldn't work like that.

Anyways, even giving him credit for the last 2 wins, I still want a different coach. Because of what I posted in the last paragraph, it's those reasons that make O a shitty head coach and the fact he just stands there with his thumb up his arse on the sidelines and can't really coach for shite.

Right there. That’s your problem and every other outspoken pumper’s on this board. It’s never about LSU...it’s only about showing up other posters. I bet your first thought after the clock hit zero Saturday was “Now I can go tell those meanies on tigerdroppings to go to hell.” It wasn’t “LSU just beat Auburn in one of the best comebacks in Tiger history.”

Depends in part on what you deem successful but we know, some of you just won't admit it.

Exactly. Just like I said in my post. With people who move coach O, it was never about LSU, just like it was never about LSU with coach O. It's all about him. Last year, he played his dumbass supporters with the one team one heartbeat bullshite, but in reality, it was all about him and winning just enough for him to get the head coach title and make that money. This is a guy who has shite on LSU for a living during his whole football career. And just like him, his supporters don't care about LSU. It's all just about proving others wrong, bc just like our head coach, they're immature.

I said from the start I hated the hire but hoped like hell he could make it work, bc that meant LSU was winning. However, from most of his supporters, it's all about proving others wrong, and we see that with every win.

Whoa! Who said I’m a fan of O? Not me. So cool your jets, pal.

I merely trotted out a few of the TD favorite coaching names to drop and asked how they are doing. I think it is ironic that all but one of the 4 specific names I listed have a worse record right now than the much maligned O. That’s all.

But the first three letters of “assume” say a lot about anybody like yourself who assumes he knows what he’s talking about - when clearly he doesn’t know squat.
