it was a little before my time, but being ranked number 1 coming out of HS over Rasheed Wallace, Jerry Stackhouse and Jason Kidd has to mean something

Likely a high lottery pick if injuries would not have gotten him

unbelievable. he wouldn't have put up Chris Jackson type numbers as a scorer but a true PG that could do it all. he recovered from 1st knee injury pretty well and I think he would've still had a great college and pro career despite the injury. the 2nd injury was a killer. I was watching the game at Arkansas when it happened and my heart sunk because you knew right away it was an awful injury.

despite all that he still bounced around the NBA as a reserve for awhile if I remember correctly

I don't think there's much doubt he would've had a great career at LSU and the NBA if injury free

He had Jason Kidd type court awareness and was a freak athlete before the knee injuries. Peyton Manning used to throw alley oops to him in high school at Newman. The fact that he was able to play at all in the NBA, even as a shadow of his former self pre-injury, shows how good his skills were. There are a couple of videos of him from high school on YouTube that give a glimpse into how good he was.

livingston was the best basketball player to ever come out of La. there will be many who dispute it but, they never saw him play apparently.

Just sad to see that happen to him. Just imagine if he, Andre Brown, and Jerald Honeycutt had made it to Baton Rouge. Man, oh man. Dale would have probably stuck around a few more years.

I saw him play against College Players when he was 13,I've seen many high school basketball players & he's the Best Point Guard I've ever seen.

There is no way to know, that it is pure speculation.

a true PG that could do it all.

He was 6'4 and a solid 190-200 lbs and was one of the most unselfish players in the history of LSU basketball. He is also one of 3 players to be named PARADE MAGAZINES PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2 years in a row. The other 2 are KAREEM ABDUL JABAAR (Lew Alcinder) and LEBRON. If only he hadn't hur......... We will never know.

He had a lot of 10 day type stints in the NBA. I watched him playing some garbage time for the Hawks way back when. Still had that great court vision and passing touch. Just didn’t move well after the injuries.

I’m guessing you mean Parade Player of the Year twice. Didn’t he share it both times?

The day Randy Livingston first injured his knee was the day that basketball died at LSU. Its had brief resurrections but the halycon days were over. Will Wade shows great potential of finally getting back to that level.

Didnt he win national player of the year as a junior and senior in high school? Pretty sure juniors do not win that very often.

I always appreciated the Arkansas crowd for giving him the standing ovation. I had a moment.

He was an unbelievable passer. Maybe one of the best ever.
My dad would take me to his high school games uptown. Kid was a freak.

Unfortunately he was injury prone, but he was still one of the greats to put on the p&g.
