I posted this in what appears to be an anchored thread so reposting. A lot of people are saying there is nothing to be impressed by or optimistic about, but I ask you this...

I know it's an if , and if's don't mean much, but how different is your opinion if LF doesn't fumble twice and we win 37-6 or maybe 37-13?

Let's take it a step further and say Etling started the season and we rolled Wisconsin 34-13 as well...

Well those things didn't happen, but we do have a very talented team with a QB that can get us where we feel we should be as a team. So tell me why I shouldn't be optimistic? Don't just say Miles will screw it up. I want him gone soon enough myself, but it doesn't change that our team actually looks pretty damn good.

because we can't trust miles not to revert to form on offense.

if he ever thinks the defense is really good we could go right back to running into a brick wall.

it's the truth.

Two fumbles, and an on-side kick is what it took to make that a close game.

Realistically, how many more times do you see that happening this year?

I'm not saying we cant lose to fla, or the gumps. I'm just saying we have a lot more to look forward to, a lot more than I originally thought after losing to wisky.

Nah. You're supposed to be miserable. Winning a close game should feel just like losing.

You aren't allowed to be happy about anything.

LF doesn't fumble and score is 43-6 no question

We watched the fan base get bipolar over the course of two halfs and you expect this board (not you personally) to offer reasonable input over a season? Ha!!

I try to keep an even disposition. I'm happy with the last two wins and like the changes I've seen. Defense will continue to improve.
Still know that November will be hell and I see two losses during that month.
Right now I'm predicting 9-3 where as two weeks ago I was thinking 7-5.
Changes were made and the team has stepped up.

if you don't think miles isn't capable, I don't even know how to respond. and i'm not going to insult you just because you disagree.

When many of us are sadly expecting for history to repeat itself, again that's an indicator that the trust and faith is gone... for some of us.

We've been here before. Will be here again. No matter who the current QB is or if the last game was a W or not.

To make it worse, it doesn't have to be this way but we continue to accept it as the norm. We have been conditioned, partly by ourselves and fandom, to accept these things as unique challenges and not a repeated failure.

Yep. People were In the stands bitching after we ran the ball to kill the clock on our final possession.

When we didn't get the onside kick some fool yelled "do your job Les". I mean these (gotta be democrats) are just vomiting dumb shite they heard from other dummies

Or for some, having top 5 caliber talent and pre-season top 5 rankings like this year and the team not performing up to expectations, it kind of leads to some to discuss whats wrong and how to fix it.
You know, that discussing football thing the board is made for.

Absolutely this forum is made for discussing football. How many people on this board, and many others come here just to blame Les Miles for everything? He gets more credit for the things that go wrong, than the things that go right.

This forum is more and more being used for the "fire Les Miles" agenda, than it is for actually discussing the game, and how it was played.

Miles is a stubborn idiot. I know we had a couple of fumbles but due to the fact he changed up offensive philosophy in the 2nd half. True Fournette fumbled because he had more pressure to perform and gangs tackling him. If we keep the offense going he has cleaner holes without the whole DL on his back and LB stripping the ball = less fumbles.

But nooooo- Miles rides Fournette who is just back from injury and may still be nicked up and he rides his awesome defense who played great- only to have Les lame brain offense cause their great effort to almost lose the game.

Les sucks. Look at Petrino- Fla State could not have made a comeback because of superior offensive scheme and not letting up

But we didn't do that this weekend. I don't think people are seeing how different our approach has been the past couple of games. We can win with the way we are playing.

The game was close because of Fournette's fumbles and our tackles were getting hurt.

Look, I have been wanting Miles gone for a good while, but even I can see we are a totally different football team with Etling. Why? I have no fricking clue. Why was Harris starting over Etling? I have no fricking clue. But, right now, I don't care. If our approach to games stays the same as it has been the past two weeks, we ARE title contenders.

This is simply not true.

If anything, it's the fact that he didn't change in the second half that made the game closer than it should have been.

Miles HAS reverted to form. Passing 40% to 45% of the time is what Miles likes to do. When he has incompetent QBs and a great running game he'll break form and start running 70% of the time.

What's confusing many of you is you think 70% running is what he wants to do and only the threat of losing his job has caused him to be more balanced. Leaving aside the fact that only a child could believe that sort of nonsense, the evidence clearly shows what I pointed out in the paragraph above.
