How does Leslie Edwin Miles have a 15 million dollar buyout in the first place?

Did Miles demand this after Arkansas showed interest?

Why is it so massive?

Because Alleva believed les' bluff that a man in his mid-60's was going to uproot his family, go to a scuddled program and start over again.

Lol

Think of all the pain and suffering that could have ended right then if this could have actually happened.

Get over it. CLM is here for at least the next year. As Bugger said all over ESPN Monday, he disagrees with CLM's offensive philosophy & felt it was time for him to go. But now that he's the HC still at LSU, it's time to get behind him & support he & the team like true LSU fans should.

I may be wrong on this, but i believe the 15 mil buyout was form the extension he signed after 2007 NC and in 2012 the extension just extended it further out. I just remember when people wanted him gone in 2009-2010 Tennessee the buyout was there. People do need to remember also that in 2012 whne he signed the extension Les was one year removed from the greatest regular season in LSU football history.

Eta...I was mistaken. The real correct answer is George Bass if a fricking agent on steroids.

We had to give him that contract. Our only other choice was to let him leave and go to R-Kansas. Then we would have had to hire someone else to figure out how to stop R-Kansas' offence.

The problem comes in that alleva, in his wisdom, kept rolling the contract forward so in essence, every year was like the first, instead of allowing him to go into his 2nd, 3rd, 4th year, etc, where the buyouts became less.

Why would you do that ? Thats just bad business.

honestly considering we went like 34-5 the previous 3 years, a raise and a big buyout were warranted at that point.

You could always keep complaining even though nothing is going to change short term, or you can be a fan of the program and not clutter the board with nothing but negativity. Can't we just revisit a possible coaching change next year, instead of bombarding the board with what is at this point pointless negativity? Les isn't going anywhere before 2017. Either be an LSU fan, or don't.
