Ross is to good as a catcher to even consider benching.
Didn't he lead the SEC in throw outs last year !
Ross is insane good. Last year he hit much better hrs got to be in a slump.

Jocoby Jones has played lights out at 2nd. What do you do?

Fortunately, Bregman has picked up enough of the middle infield offensive slack that you don't really need to do anything.

With a coach that changes things as much as Mainieri does, don't you think if he thought there was a better option he would try it?

Ross is a no brainer in the lineup.. He's batting average is almost irrelevant to the equation regarding his importance. Jones is struggling but he's still getting on base, still stealing bases and has an incredible glove.. With that, I wouldn't mind seeing someone platoon for him here and there, eventually, if he doesn't break out we may need to put in a better bat.

I expect the defensive drop off at this point between Ross and all other LSU catchers is significant. I have to trust Manieri on this one. A catcher literally touches the ball the entire game. You have to have confidence in your catcher as a pitcher.

I know some of you are calling for Yoakom to go in for Jones to see what he can do at the plate.
Now I'm not saying it would be the same exact thing as last year, but when he was given his shot there so Jones could play CF we ended up with a second baseman that couldn't hit or play second.
I don't like to bash on players, but it's the truth.
Yes I wish he was hitting better, but the dude is lights out at second.

But his defense is so much better than Yocom and Foster, so it's moot. Yocom and Foster both saw a lot of time last year, and both failed miserably at the plate. If either one of those guys has shown that they are hitting lights out in practice, then it might be different.

Bottom line, benching Jones for Foster or Yocom sacrifices way too much defensively for a negligible, at best, improvement offensively.

both are hitting way better than JOnes in their limited attempts. The offense potiential might not just be negligible. Maybe Jones will snap out of it, but it appears he is just a shitty hitter, like was said.

I think Jones has kept way more balls from getting thru to right field than any other infielder we have could dream of.

And he makes it look routine. He isn't going anywhere. Just enjoy the great ride

Lets just face it guys,it is pretty clear after watching for 3 years PM is not going to sit Jones. He is one of those untouchable no matter what.

Do you remember how bad Yocom was at second when he started the first three weeks last year?
