me too, more facts and insight than "color" commentating... which is a good thing.

7 overall.
8.5 for Palmer
Musberger brought them down but he wasn't horrible.

Even though I didn't really want to hear some of it, Palmer's critiques were spot on. And he sees the "little things".

Their coverage was OK - nothing more or less.

BM - nothing if not consistent. But him veerng off into NFL analysis in the 1st half was transparent, stupid, unrelated.

JP - I give him professional sportsmanship kudos for trying to buck up SHS as they were getting pummeled.

I am disappointed that the SEC Network broadcast coverage of the game showed virtually no differentiation from any other ESPN CF broadcast. I could not detect special emphasis on SEC flavor - apologies that this is tangent to the OP's question.

I think that many people don't realize all the things that are really going on in the booth. Aside from the preparation of the announcers (like the history of the two teams and players therefrom, current events in the college football scene, etc.), there are monitors in front of them they watch, they are continually watching the field as well--there are things they sometimes see that the cameras don't catch. In the headsets there are voices that are continually crossing lines and the announcers have to listen to the director/producer and spotters to keep things going. It seems like announcers are required to "spin plates" and then have to keep the action going so as not to have "dead space" in the flow. Or perhaps they just just put on headsets and talk these days--I don't know, but I have produced tv shows and this is the way things have been when I tried to produce them. As for rating--I thought the three did a great job--9.1.

Rating of 0

Musberger said lsu couldn't recruit in Texas till A & M joined, further proof he is a tard

Musberger also said recruits parents could now watch them on TV because of sec network, as if lsu never had games on tv

Palmer said LSU was just starting to recruit in TX

So they are douchebags in my book

People at the MPA say he's a dick, but I think he does a good job with color for the network so far

I thought these statements were a bit flakey, because LSU has been VERY successful over the past 50-60 years recruiting players from Texas--even snagging some right beneath TA&M's nose. Interestingly, LSU has been very successful using Texas-originating players over the decades. So these statements showed their ignorance of LSU history--something they should have been up on had they done their research. Of course, the media is guilty of historical revisionism...or is that hysterical revisionism?
