Yes this was a give you all game the team played their hearts out today. How in the HELL do you lay a egg when the NCAA
Tourney is on the line.

Actually there a pretty solid team. The kid who helps me with my All Star team each year is on their pitching staff and he's pretty damned salty to have come from a small high school in SC.

Now look at the errors committed/walks allowed by the other teams in those games.

Then look at the number of extra base hits and home runs LSU has hit so far.

It's still early but those runs appear to be fools gold. Our approach at the plate is very much the same as last season minus the high amount of bunt attempts.

You don't sound like a beast, you sound like p$$$y! Can a member of TD express their opinions without the threat of being banned? Are you against freedom of speech?

sure you can criticize i do it myself. but calling the head coach miserable and calling for his firing after the first loss of a BASEBALL season is not needed. this isn't football you don't have to win every game. if we don't make the tournament this year i think major changes are needed. However, i don't see that happening.

pitching is 90% of the game.

when the college baseball playoffs happen, you see schools from the non-BCS teams win an opening game 1-0 or 2-1.
look back at the scores. even non-BCS schools send pitchers to the pros. Its not unusual for a small school to have ONE great pitcher or at least a guy like the pro Sanchez who was with the Giants last year, who threw a no hitter and then could not get a strike called on his breaking ball, the next two games. Guys have a great day. it happens.

its ok to give the basketball team heat but not da baseball team. yall need to learn the house rules here.

I don't think either team should be "given heat" based on a single game, but are you really trying to equate a 25 point loss at Ole Miss to a baseball game where where we lost 1-0 early in the season, in cold weather?

Plus, your premise that the baseball team is under criticized is absolutely ridiculous.

harry coleman beast,I agree, a little to early to call for Mainieri's job. But if this team cannot hit the ball better than 2011, the results will be the same, no Omaha. And if that's the case, the batting coach and Mainieri needs to go. JMHO

javi needed to go after last season. he is just not a good coach. I like coach PM and i think asking for his head for not making omaha is a little much, but like i said no tournament and a complete overhaul is needed. We've only played 6 games, everyone needs to settle down. if we are still struggling at the plate by the time conference play starts then i will be very worried. I'll hold judgement until the weather warms up a bit and our youngsters get a little more playing time under their belt.

OK harry coleman beast, I'll take your advice. I'll give Mainieri and staff more than SIX games before a decision is made!
