Yep. He was the coach who started keeping the talent in state.

Nice guy, wanted to be successful and tried hard. His problem was he hired his assistants based on friendship not ability and he remained loyal to them even when they were obvious failures. A problem that Miles has to a lesser extent and that Saban has not at all.

He brought in a group of sub-contractors that were rebuilding the program, then he hire a demolition contractor to undo everything accomplished. He drove off Watts with saying the offense was not scoring enough to win(35 points per game) when Teppers defense didn't do shite to stop anyone on offense against it.

I think of Dinardo as a very important stepping stone. If anybody doubts that he began this programs' up-turning, you are a fool.

He definitely messed with the coordinators way too much and could've done better, but I'm grateful for him

As a guy who blew it because of his ego.

He hitched his ride to Tepper's defensive scheme and then refused to fire him when he gave us the two worst defenses in LSU history.

As soon as he learned that Tepper actually made a game plan where Thomas Dunson was assigned to guard Champ Bailey, the idiot should have been fired immediately.

The Food was Great, but the Tepper DC issue killed him.

Tepper was terrible but I think people underestimate how terrible our offense was under Bob McConnell in 1999. We averaged 20.3 points on offense (97th) while giving up 23.5 on defense (44th). We only averaged 16.8 ppg in SEC play.

I like Dinardo. He was a good DC away from having some special seasons but ultimately Lou Tepper and MasterP brought him down.

He was the last in a long run of low budget hires that was finally stopped by Emmert.

I almost cried when I learned LSU was going with a Vanderbilt guy who in four years there, had never even had a breakeven season.

He shocked me with his ability to recruit and he laid the foundation Nick stepped on to bring us back to another NC.

Overall, good guy and fair coach who was in over his head at LSU.

SAban's resume was only a smidge more impressive, when hired, you realize?
