Both are outstanding in their own rights, Both have good hands. Both are physical. Hill showed uncanny field vision and acceleration on his 85 yard TD against the Broncos.

Hill broke many 40+ yard td runs in two years as a Tiger.

Fournette doesn't have a run longer than 30 yards I don't believe.

Hill gets in the secondary, and he's gone. Fournette runs to contact in the secondary.

Hill seems far more fluid, and also seems to have better vision.

Hill is better, but Fournette is just a freshman, we will see.

I want to see Fournette get better breakaway speed, like Hill.

Fournette had a 40 yard run against Sam Houston State, and a 47 yard against A&M.

I actually think Fournette is faster. I'd put the power about even, but it manifests differently. Hill broke tackles, Fournette runs through them and "falls forward".

Hill just has / had better vision right now and looks to take it to the house when he can.

Fournette tries to truck people. If he learns a bit and develops some vision, he can break the long ones. Stiff arm the 180 lb DB instead of running over him and get more yards - plus take less wear and tear.

Fournette seems more physical. Hill would try to go untouched, which was great. Fournette, so far, likes to initiate contact. I think Fournette wanted to get his licks in early.

Did Fournette score a td on either of those runs? Hill didn't get caught on the secondary. He made enough of a move to get safeties diving at his legs. He had great balance and wouldn't go down.

FWIW, I've been Fournette's biggest supporter on this board. I want lsu to keep feeding him the ball. I'm just pointing out that Hill was really special.

I think Fournette will start to make people miss, instead of running them over as he continues to mature. He definitely has the skills to make them miss. He doesn't have Hill's acceleration in and out of cuts, though. Don't think that can be taught.

The biggest difference to me is that Hill did a much better job of lowering his pads. Fournette runs a bit upright and gets stood up more often than he should.

I also think Hill has a little bit more wiggle...actually significant more wiggle.

I'll make that comparison in three years. Obviously Hill is one of the best backs in the NFL(3rd I believe in yards with minimal starts). LF has potential. We will see. If you had to compare now, the answer is obvious. Hill was LSUs best RB for two years. LF was the best one last year. I'll be happy if Fournette turns out to be equal to Hill. I believe he has a shot to eclipse Hill, but we will see.
