LSU has been visiting team the fewest times in this tourney so they get the unlucky draw.

It was explained in the game post from last night.

It is dumb that the NCAA has decided that since LSU has been the home team twice and the visitor once, while Rice has been the home team twice and visitor twice, that it would be more fair to the lower seed to not make them be the visitor the third time.

That would make the lower seed the home team three times and the national seed the home team twice in their own fricking regional. So what is the benefit to being a national seed? Being the home team against the 4 seed? I would rather be the home team in game fricking 7. Assholes.

This is where I have a huge issue as well. If the NCAA is going to do it like this the higher seeds should get to decide whether they want the top or bottom half of the inning in their opener.

Then, from there, you can make sure everyone gets treated fairly.

What's fair is that we earned a national seed and right to host so we should be the home team throughout the regional. However, this wouldn't matter if we didn't leave a small village on the bases last night.

Have you noticed the 5 billion "fairness" commercials that run during the games? The NCAA has an agenda and it's not "fairness" as a logical person would see it.

No, but I saw the "I was diagnosed with depression"
Followed by "DOOOOONT GIIIIVE UPPPP"
900000 times

So glad we were on ESPNU instead of ESPN3 lastnight. I can't take that commercial anymore.
Terrible actors. Terrible script. Terrible music. And they play that commercial over and over inbetween innings

Kinda defeats the purpose of hosting a regional IMO

That's ok though, Rice will be he home team in this regional 3 times while LSU is only home 2 times...makes 0 sense...

You could have almost literally continued that sentence with about a million different scenarios involving the NCAA and stupid rules and regulations.

For first-round games during championship competition, the highest-seeded team shall be designated as
the home team. In subsequent games, the home team shall be determined according to a formula applied
by the games committee.
In determining which of two teams in any game will be the home team, the games committee or the
NCAA game representative shall designate the home team using the following guidelines:
1. The institution that has been the home team the fewer number of times in that particular tournament.
2. If the two teams are equal in this respect but unequal in the number of times they were the visitor,
then the team that has been the visitor more often will be designated the home team.
3. If the two teams are equal in the number of times that they have been home and visitor, the games
committee or the NCAA game representative shall observe the following procedures in the order stated:
a. If the two teams have met previously in that particular tournament, the visitor in the previous game
shall be the home team in the game in question
(Exception: In a two-team tournament where both teams have been the home team twice, the fifth game
will be determined by a coin flip);
b. The team that was visitor in its preceding game shall be the home team, unless both teams were visitors
in their preceding games; or
c. If the above procedures do not resolve the matter, the home team shall be determined by coin flip.

Still a stupid rule, but on a positive note, there has been a rule change regarding this is the Supers. Instead of flipping a coin to determine home team in Game 3 (if necessary), it will now go to the host team!
The guy at the NCAA told me that this morning when I called to complain about the rule for tonight.
