watching on the TV.... besides AU's offense comments,
It appeared that Canada's offense had more movement and was more aggressive.

Almost as if the O was held back until the 2nd half so AU could not adjust at half time ???

Ehh hard to say. From the play by play, just didn't convert and had to punt.

Gage's jet sweep that set up the Sullivan touchdown finally broke the cycle of our defense not getting a breather and staying on the field. Completely different defense afterwards, and our offense did enough to win.

The Gus Bus went run, run, pass the entire 2nd half, took a page out of Les Miles handbook of coaching, and tried to sit on a lead.

Special teams was huge. Punt return for a td, two clutch fgs. LSU also punted it 7 times.

Gary Danielson made a good point in that we showed the limitations of Auburn's offense because, typically, what makes them dangerous is the threat of a running QB. That's not what Stidham is. Our defense knew where the ball was going and we limited them in the second half.

Great second half of football. Really proud of O and the Tigers.

Auburn QB Stidham threw Gus under the Gus Bus when asked about AU play calling, said: ‘I’m doing what I’m told to do’

Rashard Lawrence was a big difference in the second half.

Haven't seen this on this thread yet, but Rashard Lawrence was battling strep throat all week. He was parched in the first half. At halftime, besides the Aranda adjustments (bringing one add'l safety up), they gave Rashard an IV with fluids.

He said he felt like a different man in the second half.

Quickest summary:
Defense only allowed Aub 64 yds and no points in second half. Aranda adjusted gap defense and stopped the runs that were so successful in first half.
Stidam was only 2-13 for 6 yds in second half.

The second half was absolutely a dominating performance.

While the defense obviously deserves a ton of credit for keeping this game in the W column, the coordinator-less special teams (O gives Raymond credit for the punt return squad) actually deserve the "most" credit at the end, scoring 13 critical points in the second half and we needed all of them.

(ETA: And I don't want to short the offense too badly - they obviously moved the ball, killed some clock and gained enough yards for the field goals - this was a team effort, period. They also scored on those 2 clutch drives in the 2nd quarter that kept the game from being out of hand at halftime and the momentum from being entirely Auburn's.)

(And Also ETA: Punting was not outstanding, but good enough and punt coverage was outstanding - 7 punts and we allowed 1 return for 4 yards.)

Defense shut AU down after halftime.

Which was nothing short of extraordinary. The defense looked totally lost and inept in the first quarter and about half of the second quarter. I was pleasantly surprised they didn't pack it in down 20 and looking like Auburn could do anything they wanted offensively.

Stidham tried to throw short and Toliver almost grabbed it for a pick 6.....our defense “forced” them to abandon the short pass....they knew our Defense was on to their short passing game...

Since when is throwing deep balls considered “conservative” play calling?

I call bullshite to the “Auburn went to a more conservative approach” in the 2nd half and that’s why they lost theory...

Our defense stepped it up...bottom line

And so did our offense...Chark found ways to get separation, Etling had confidence that Chark would catch it....& he just threw the damn ball on time for big plays when we needed them.

Defense played lights-out second half.

But the real game-changing play, and huge momentum swing, was the Auburn dropped INT just before half. We ended up scoring a couple plays later to cut it to 23-14 at half, and we were pumped. If their DB makes that pick, they go into half up 23-7 and we're demoralized.

I'd say that was the biggest play. Obviously, Gage's catch, Chark's punt return, the FGs, and our defense were huge. But that dropped INT was the biggest.

Swapped out with the 07 team at half?

Anybody say that yet?

The 1st quarter there were numerous mistakes. We werent manhandled. They cut the mistakes down in the 2nd and eliminated them by half.

To me it looked that they got their FIGHT back. I heard from a former A&M great, that LSU might not win a game, but no one was ever going to out physical the Tigers. It is so good to see our Fighting Tigers again.

No one seems to have mentioned a healthier Derrius Guice, either. He had some solid runs for good yardage, that allowed the offense to be balanced and forced the Auburn defense to have to guess a little more.

It bought Etling and the receivers a little bit of time.
