How can college officials over 2 qtrs to throw a flag

on the Florida center for intentionally drawing the defense offsides with his head movement. It is illegal to do so, or he wouldn't have been flagged in the 3rd quarter for it. SEC officials are turrable.

Because they didn't jump offsides in over 2 qtrs.

I want to know why it had to happen about 5 times before Les got to the official to tell him something ... I give Les this, when he DID get to the ref about it he sure was animated!

I'm watching the replay right now. He was causing the defense to jump with his head nods. The refs flag the center for it in the 3rd quarter. Why did it take so long?

Jordy, said that Les brought it up early in the second quarter and was ignored. They talked at the half and Chevis told Alexander to cream him immediately and point to the center. The talk by Miles and instructions at the half took care of it.
He did not turn his head again. Apparently, Fla's claim is that is the signal to give his lineman a silent motion to overcome crowd noise letting the OL know of the snap.

I saw earlier tonight on the replay Les getting on an official about it .. very animated I thought. I'll be DAMN if the center didn't go right back and do it afreakingain ... with no call whatsoever.

the officials were keened in on the offsides more than the offensive pass interference for sure....

While we're at it, what is the rulebook definition for holding? I think over the last 3 years that opposing offenses have been called for about 3 holding calls total. I just watched Tebow scramble, and one of their lineman had one hand on the 9 in front of the jersey and the other hand on the 7 in the back of the jersey and pushed our d-lineman past Tebow as he ran away. How is that not holding or a block in the back?

Not the silent count with his head....the time of each offsides by the defense. Idiot

I'll let you know Wednesday when it replays again.

He was not moving his head forward abruptly, simulating action at the snap. It was not a false start.

Then why did they call it on him in the 3rd quarter?

I was five rows from the top of the SS and I could see him moving his head when they were on the 20 yard line of the south endzone...
Please...it was missed multiple times.

Thanks...because I saved the game video and found a couple of time where LSU lined up in the neutral zone and one where the tackle tried to time the silent count.. NONE of those were false starts by the center.

Nobody said he wasn't moving his head, but moving his head does not necessarily constitute a false start. On each play he looked left, delayed, and then snapped the ball.

Against Florida, when you see their running back wide open on the outside gaining big chunks of yardage, fans think they really faked our defense out.
It's called holding, big time. Now we have all learned the true nature of an Urban Myer coached team.
You see dirty tricks in high school, not so much in college, and then more so, like New England, in the NFL.
Anyway to get a win. That ain't why we lost. Despite what Florida does offensively and defensively, if LSU tried everything in the offensive playbook to move the football, the we win or go down swinging instead of like a wus.
Offense is not geared for the players; the players must adjust and of course, this is disastrous.
