Yeah the SEC should be even worse next year. Look at what everybody is losing.

Duop Reath, the best shot blocker in JUCO.
Is that like our JUCO scoring leader we got last year?

Without BS they will be better. The team relied on him too much and didn't deliver.

With this and Jones at the helm, playing LSU might qualify as a decent practice game. A competent coach could probably make something of it, but Jones has proven that he can't.

Starters:

PG - Jalen Patterson
SG - Antonio Blakeney
SF - Epps
PF - Victor
C - Reath/Elbert combo

That's about a 6-12 -- maybe 8-10 team at best. They'll win 16 games and be proud for an NIT bid.

Now, if somehow and some way that Quarterman would come back...now it's NCAA talk.

The "WHat if (insert name) would have stayed all-time team" at LSU is simply mind-boggling. Every year, one piece who we extremely wish we still had is gone. From Chris Jackson in '91 to Shaq in '93 to Tyrus in '07 to Randolph in '09 to Martin/Mickey in '16...just imagine those teams with that extra team. I honestly think if Randolph would have returned in '09, we would have possibly won a NC. I'm dead serious. That team just needed a power presence other than Tasmin. Imagine Thorton, Randolph, Mitchell, Spencer, and GT and then the bench. Imagine if Magnum Rolle would have stayed put, too.

Sigh...this is college basketball.

are we looking at a potential bottom 3-4 in the conference?

I seem to be in the vast minority here, but I do not think we're going to be ^that^ bad.

A lot hinges on if Blakeney returns IMO. Having to thrust Sampson into a starting role will be a lot to handle. We have solid freshman/JUCO signees who will contribute immediately. Can't wait to see how the team runs with a true point guard.

G: Mays
G: Patterson/Jenkins
G: Blakeney/Hayward
F: Victor
"C": Reath

Not horrific to me. Maybe I'm a sunshine pumper

remember when john odo led JUCO in rebounding...josh gray in scoring...

frick, i just hope reath can be a poor man's chris johnson. jenkins perimeter d will be just as valuable.

i also guarantee jones puts together another pooh arse OOC schedule.
