I went to the OU/Notre Dame game last night and don't remember a single penalty against ND (although I may be wrong) despite several personal fouls and what looked like interference on the media darlings. It made me think of what the SEC refs may do to us next week especially to keep their beloved gumps in the national title hunt.

I hate blaming refs on game outcomes but it seems like we've been hosed so many times before.

Do you really think refs will make calls to benefit Bama with so many people watching? I don't.

And LSU has NEVER gotten away with a call... RIGHT?????????

GEEZ some of you are sooooo spoiled. I will say this. Do NOT be surprised at the amount of calls that go against LSU because thats what they have done all year. STUPID penalties. Bama is playing smarter than LSU as of now.

There were some questionable calls imo last night against State. The halo violation I have not seen called against anyone not playing them. The unsportsmanlike on Mullen on the same play. It is ridiculous the calls they get. It's not that they win because of calls, but they definitely are a hell of a lot harder to beat then any normal team. THE refs will protect them especially when they are the only undefeated SEC team.

i'm sure you've watched every game. The rule is you have to give a 1 yard buffer, it's pretty cut and dry.

he was about 2 inches from the refs ear, he was begging for it

Bama was getting away with a ton of holding calls and pass interference against Miss St. I honestly expect it every time we play Bama.

that halo call was crap. i don't know how many times i've been hollering for that call this year, and we never get it.

if you're going to call it, then call it everytime. that's the first i've seen it without someone being tackled.

then those are bad calls

It was the correct call last night if you're going by what the rule book says

The Irish had one flag for 5 yards. OU had 5 for 39.

We've got to have 5 or less flags Saturday night IMO.

According to Wikipedia the Halo rule was abolished beginning in the 2003 season. Never should have been called.

The refs won't be the problem. Our stupid personal fouls will.

well wikipedia is wrong

" Through officiating interpretation, kick returners are provided protection of 1 yard (in front of the returner) to complete a catch before the kicking team is allowed to make contact. Also, receiving teams can call for a fair catch on onside kicks that are driven directly into the ground but that don’t bounce a second time."

this is from CBS

"Brown also took issue with the new, re-instituted halo rule that requires players to provide a one-yard buffer zone in front of players returning punts. "Now, if [a defender is] covering me and I'm returning the punt and I bobble it and go toward him and he's within a yard of me and doesn't touch me ... it's a 15yard penalty," Brown said. "I really hope that we'll relook at some of those things and try to make a difference."

The halo rule applies to more than just punts now, too. Next year, onside kicks must hit the ground twice, or kick return teams can call fair catches and prevent defenders from trying to retain possession for an onside attempt."

From ESPN

our lack of discipline will be an issue but the sec tries to protect its undefeated teams

bama is a sure bet for being in the nc game right now if the win out, LSU is not a sure thing so Id expect a slight edge to bama in the way the game is called.

There was a blatant late hit that I still can't believe wasn't called in that game

Guy from OU catches the football and his knee is down. He gets back up and after the play is over he is clobbered by 2 ND defenders. I thought for sure the flags were coming and they didn't.

I guess you don't remember the PP interception in Bama a few years back. That was the WORST call in the history of college football IMO...

that was a bad call. Don't act like LSU has never gotten a favorable call though, I saw corey webster shove a guy down in the end zone and intercept a pass against alabama. I just think the tin foil hats need to be thrown in the garbage can or recycled for the next time you cook baked potatoes
