This brand of basketball in 2013 is pretty bad to watch

I'm 1/9-ing pretty hard right now.

the refs took JOB out of the game. did you see fouls #3 and #4? I'm pretty sure you didnt.

To have players foul less.
By increasing the foul calls. Brilliant.

Hickey is a better scoring threat than Quarterman, but Hickey didn't shoot today.
And he's a better ball handler. And better passer. And better on defense. The only thing Quartermann is better at Hickey in is height. Unfortunately for Hickey, that is important sometimes.

The next three full practices should be every player getting on the FT line and shooting hundreds and hundreds of FTs. We should have enough goals for that (4 in the PMAC, 8 in the bball facility?). I'm serious...nonstop FTs for hours on end. We can't leave points on the court like that.

When you commit 23 fouls and shoot 60% from the line and lose by 2, it ain't because of the refs
29-23= 6. So let's say those 6 non fouls translate to 12 free throws. They shot 70% so that's between 8-9 MADE free throws. Let's subtract 8 from their score...92-8= 84.

So because someone says it's true, that makes it true....got it. If that's true, I got lots of stuff to sell to you

I missed why Martin was out. Can you explain?

BTW, I've used logic like that to explain why John Brady could've won like 4 NCs.
(in case you aren't aware, I fricking LOVE me some JB)

When you foul a lot ("conservative" estimates calculate 23 "legit" foul calls against LSU) and shoot poorly from the line, you take the game out of your own hands and have only yourself to blame for a close loss.

Out transition defense was awful and our outside shooting was not good but I was impressed with our freshman and there athletic ability.. Going to take awhile to work out the kinks but by mid season I see good things happening

He landed awkwardly on his ankle in the first few minutes of the game. At half they said it was a sprained ankle.

actually yes it does matter. making one point (they didnt shoot well from the line) does not negate a completely separate point. which is what you keep trying to do.

quote:Yes. That's what they'll be doing. They'll be enforcing the rules more tightly, so teams and players will have to hone their defensive skills better if they wish to succeed at basketball. I've been calling for this to happen for years, and now that it is happening, I'm excited about the inevitable direction of the college game.

I get what you're trying to do, but you're being intentionally obtuse at this point. If JOB was in the game (like he should have been), those missed FTs are less important because we have our best player scoring points. That's what you are intentionally forgetting.

quote:Pure sissy talk. In sports, you take care of your own business first before you bitch about something somebody else does. So if you're LSU, you work on your free throws so you don't have to worry about the possible effect of a few bad calls in a 2-point loss next time.

You said yourself earlier in the thread that this will bring back the nonexistent mid-range jumper. After watching this game, it seems as though every team should be driving the ball to the basket, initiating contact and getting to the line, thereby eliminating the mid-range jumper all together.
