Football is awesome. The recruiting is just as much a part of it as anything.

Also, football is awesome.

What we've learned from this thread is we all love football, but others enjoy the competition of any sport as well. For me if there is a sport on TV I'll watch it. Even though I hate what they are presenting these days, I watch ESPN religiously (if these other wannabe sports networks step their game up, I'll gladly switch over)

My dad and I would watch recorded games on the DVR in the offseason.

We followed recruiting and talked about that.

Baseball is there and that means a bunch too, as does basketball.

Again, this is just for us, not trying to dump on any one sport.

We followed the Tigers in as many sports as we could keep up with and it kept us happy, excited, about LSU.

But in the end, we were always waiting on football. We would set countdown clocks on our computers.

For dad and me, LSU means a ton and brings a lot of happiness.

Some people just don't have anything better to do. It's pitiful really. I'm glad I have other interests. I can concentrate on recruiting now that the season is over. After that it's the spring game. Then it's kinda slow til the middle of August but yeah I have other interests

People will talk about football all year round. What annoys me is when people complain about when people start threads about other sports. Some people think it is only football and we shouldn't talk about baseball basketball golf volleyball gymnastics etc.

I travel to North Carolina every Wednesday for work and the way those folks get fired up over college roundball is humorous. It is not much different here in Virginia...just proof they are no longer southern states where football is king.

Bashing Miles is a full time job. Off season only allows for a little time to bash Jones, then on to Manieri. Some drink some Red Bull so they can stay up to bash the admins for letting Henry get away from LSU track. Now, back to bashing Miles.

When you love a sport as much as you do, and don't really care about other sports much at all, it's natural.

- Football Year -

August to February - CFB and NFL season/JUCO NSD/recruiting

Jan to February - coaching changes/high school All American games/CFB senior bowls/recruiting home stretch/NSD/get acquainted with next year's recruits/CFB attrition news (transfers, early exits)/NFL combine

March to June - spring practice/spring games/high school combine and 1 on 1 events (big ones are Nike regionals, Elite 11 regionals, UA Rivals camps regionals)/recruiting/pro days/NFL pre draft, draft, and post draft analysis

July - Nike: The Opening (Elite 11 Finals are part of it as well)/LSU's version of The Opening/CFB media days/recruiting/NFL training camps

August - CFB fall camps/recruiting/NFL preseason

I don't know when the 7 on 7 tournaments for high school players start, but add that somewhere in the summer too.

So as you can see, the world of football is year round and never ending if you pay attention to what other teams have going on and enjoy recruiting. I've only just got into it 3 years ago.

Generally during the offseason, I'll gradually migrate more to some of the other boards - for me personally it's mostly the M/TV Board and the OT but I do sometimes check out some of the others.

I still hang out on the Rant and Recruiting Board through recruiting and the Rant just a bit for spring practice and a little more for fall practice. And I follow baseball on here a good bit.

The answer is obvious...football is King.

But, I challenge all you exclusively football fans to spend some time watching other sports. And, do yourself a favor and leave out whatever bias thoughts pop in your head.

No wonder you are such a negative a-hole. You are jealous of the talent the players have and how it gets them the attention you weren't good enough to get yourself in high school or college.

cheering for on the field people we would find COMPLETELY unlikable in real life.

How in the frick could you possibly know that? Just because a dude is bigger, faster, and stronger than you doesn't mean they are going to be unlikeable.

Stop being jealous of the talent of others and get a life of your own.

I don't like or watch basketball. Baseball barely interests me. I talk about football just like I'd talk about anything else. If the subject comes up and the other person is also interested in it, it gets talked about. That easy. Kind of like talking about the weather or whatever else.

As far as i'm concerned, football is the greatest sport there is. Compared to it, I don't care about any of the others except for LSU baseball. I don't care about basketball, hockey, NBA, pro baseball, soccer, or any of that junk. College football, NFL, and college baseball are it
