Wasn't that the year that Archie played with his broken arm in a cast?

Unfortunately I've always lived out of state and back in those days could not always get to watch an LSU game.

I was part of the crowd that rushed the field after the UF game in 1997. Still have some grass from the field, as well as my cup from the stadium concessions. I too live out of state and have since 1999. That said, I can't remember a time when I wasn't able to catch an SEC LSU game on TV (Maybe MSU once or twice). That's one good thing about being a Tiger fan...with the Gameplan packages and propensity for night games, I've rarely been stuck in front of my computer listening to the Geaux Zone call. Heck, all the sports bars have the Gameplan or something similar, so I've been able to watch the vast majority of non-conference games.

I believe bama 2000 was another. I seem to remember being on the field after a game twice around the same time. In one game a girl got hit in the head when she ran into the post. The second time they went ahead and layed the posts down. I'm glad we've been there enough now to not even care about it.

However, I did have a chunk of the eye in a bag in the fridge for a while. Probably had every form of bacteria growing in that fridge and never knew it.

Yep. Game was supposed to have been on Halloween, but got moved to Dec 5th for ABC. Had Ole Miss won, they would have won the SEC.

Ole Miss actually led 17-7 at one point. Talk about the wheels falling off.

How old are you?

'97 against Florida
'00 against Moo State
'00 against Tenn

Somebody said we did it against Alabama one year, but I don't remember that.

I rushed the field after UF win in '97 as well. That was the best ever. Nobody gave us a chance to win that game. Kevin Faulk had a hell of a game. All Eyes on 3!

Yes. He broke it against Houston a few weeks earlier.

LSU greased the goalpost one year. i believe it as the bama game when we finally beat them after 30 years at home. it was funny watching students fall off of them.

And i remember LaBrandon Toefield shook my hand at midfield when we rushed in 2001 vs Auburn

That was the first time we beat Bama in Baton Rouge in about 40 years. The same game that the refs tried to give Bama the game on a muffed punt that LSU CLEARLY recovered.

Can't belive it took someone that long to mention that game. Was on the field for that game and Florida in 97. Had my field turf from both games in ziploc baggies until Katrina fricked them up.

From my recollection, LSU fumbled 3 times in the first quarter. Ole Miss led 7-0 and 10-7, but LSU led either 23-10 or 26-10 at halftime. Estay "placed" Manning down in the SEZ for a safety.
We led 33-10 in the third before Shug Chumbler led Ole Miss to a TD to make it 33-17, then we scored on a 55 yard quick opener by Chris Dantin, 2 punt return TDs by Casanova (maybe one of them by Burns), and either a long pass or an INT return.

Paul Lyons ran the last OM pass down to the 5 yard line for nearly another TD. If he had scored and we not fumbled away a few scoring chances in the first quarter, we might have hit 80 or 90.

My bad. Still, after trailing 10-7, LSU went on a 54-7 run.

Yeah, one of my fondest memories, ending Bama's streak in DV. The refs actually watched the big screen replay before making the correct call. I'd hate to imagine what would have happened if they had given Bama the ball. I took my Canadian friend to this game and ever since he has been a die hard LSU fan.

LSU fans "walked" the field after Alabama 2000. It was orderly and calm. This is a serious post.

Faulk had a decent game, but it wasn't one of his better games. don't think he had over 100 yds, and he scored 1 TD

it's so easy to do in our stadium with the stands that go right down to the field.

Rendered less easy by EBR Sheriff's deputies and State Troopers whose job it is to keep drunken students from destroying the field while there are still games to be played on it.
