I've never seen a game where this happen. Must have not watched those games due to a major conflict. Thanks for posting the link. That was exciting to watch.
Unfortunately I've always lived out of state and back in those days could not always get to watch an LSU game.

This just goes to show you how many fans started following LSU football AFTER the NC's.
Fans rushed for
FL '97
TN & MS ST in 2000
Auburn 2001 to go to the SEC CG

Man, y'all are young. 1982 Florida State game that put us in the Orange Bowl was unbelievable. About the whole student section ran out and there were orange battles everywhere. These poor Florida State cheerleaders on the field (the girls) were scared to death. Wild, wild scene.
Pretty sure crowd rushed the field after the 1970 Ole Miss game. After about the 21st interception that night, LSU ran one more back to the Ole Miss 5 up 61-17 with about :30 and fans stormed the field and the refs just said screw it.

Nobody is mentioning the Bama game in either 2000 or 2001.
That was the first time we beat Bama in Baton Rouge in about 40 years. The same game that the refs tried to give Bama the game on a muffed punt that LSU CLEARLY recovered.

I'm really proud we don't do this like some other schools. And it's so easy to do in our stadium with the stands that go right down to the field.
So we know when you started following LSU football

Great story about that...
Norman Lejeune was injured when the goalposts came down. He recalled later, "Everybody was yelling 'We love you! We love you!'. If you love me so much, why didn't you yell, 'Hey! Watch out! The goalposts are coming down!'".

Me, too. Still have it in a special LSU jar on my desk. Looking at it right now. Good times....Good times.
