I wish that he would have just retired last season.

100% agree and I've wanted him gone for 10 years

He has no one to blame but himself.

Yep going out the way against A&M would have been best for both parties

He did it to himself! Broken promises over and over and he had every change to change. Don't lie to big boosters is the moral to this story.

Feel the same way but you make your own luck !
I truly wish him well - he's good man and did a lot for LSU.

He could have retired last year but his stubbornness and pride did him in]

But don't feel sorry for him between salary and buyout he has near 15Mil to comfort him this year

Could of or should have been a more graceful exit but this had to be done. I'm very surprised at the decisiveness.

But you have to admit, that last play is fitting for him to end on one

I agree.

Understand that football is a business, but Les Miles has been a great ambassador for LSU. He's a good man. He was loyal.

I know his moving on is best for LSU Football, but I'm not "celebrating" his being fired.

Wish he could have "retired early" to take a position within the department.

This has been long overdue. I do not feel sorry for Les. He is arrogant and stubborn and his stubbornness was ultimately his downfall. His incoherent ramblings were getting old. His luck ran out several years ago. It was time.

His choice. I'm glad he was able to go out his way.

Les forced LSU's hand on this. I never thought I'd see him get fired. Maybe asked to resign, or something along those lines. But he obviously decided to play hardball last season, and they had to make a business decision. He bet on himself and lost.

Now LSU and FKing have egg on their face, too. Basically everybody comes out looking bad. I sure hope we can straighten up the AD and make a good hire. Lot of healing will be needed in the next year or two.

I don't hate it at all. He did it to himself. He could have sat down and talked out a plan to resign or retire. He absolutely knew the pressure was on. He is a grown as man who makes almost $5 million a year.

It would take me 30 years to earn that much money. I absolutely don't feel sorry for him. Anyone who does is a fool.

How do you almost get fired then change nothing? Les has no one to blame but himself.

He probably could have had he been so inclined. He forced the situation to go down this way. He was the one who got his agent to call Alleva in 2010 when Arkansas came calling. It blows my mind how anyone feels sorry for him.
