Not much. I'm just guessing it'll be a slightly higher ranked conference finish than the average.

Shores to the rescue

He's not gonna give us much. Last year he was very dependent on his velocity and he hadn't really learned how to pitch at the college level yet. Obviously he has a ton of talent but considering that he's been hurt I can't imagine he's improved a whole lot. Its also unlikely that he will be back throwing 100 mph right away

Best quote in the thread:

quote:

There were some smartasses on here that truly thought/ maybe still think that this team...which includes our high school pitching staff other than best pitcher in the game (skenes)...will be in Omaha this season. I was laughed at and called a fool. I said I would bet 100 bucks that we won't make it out of supers bc ouemr bullpen ia simply that bad...despite our monterous batting lineup. Do I still have any takers? Or do I have to lower it to 50 bucks? I have a feeling I'm going to have to even push it further and say we won't even win a regional with this horrible peanut gallery pitching punks we have besides skenes. For now it's 80 bucks to anyone who wants to bet me that LSU won't make it to omaha...meaning if they do? I cash app yall 80 bucks...if they don't, you cash app me 80 bucks. Where yall at?

Wow. It's funny though, how many moments during a championship season, when it all seems lost.

We have a young team, and a brutal schedule. Doesn't make it any easier, but I understand it. Jay's gonna get em right.

You aren't, the hyperbolic whiners are just very vocal. We are either never gonna lose another series or never gonna win another series to folks like that.

but I think LSU is only some timely hitting away from being really good.

That and more consistent pitching, mostly the bullpen again.

Neal, Milam, and Kling have been too much to overcome.

Kling seems to be getting the bat on the ball more in the last few games, though hitting right at folks. Initially, he seemed to be missing everything he swung at and watching strike go by way too often.

The bad thing for LSU is those three guys are the best defensive guys at their respective positions and I don't think it is particularly close. For Neal we have Milazzo or Trav. Seems like everytime we put someone in center for Kling they make an error, and Milam is just to good in the middle infield, especially turning the DP to keep him out.

Hopefully they turn it around at the plate.

Milazzo is the best defensive catcher we have.
And his bat really isn’t that big of a drawback anymore. He won’t hit for power, but he takes good at bats.

I'm switching feeds this week, and wearing my oldest lucky t-shirt.

I think I've figured out the issue, let Jay know

CPM wouldn't have fumbled around and fricked up that second Florida game...or let his team get run ruled two weeks in a row.

JJ is on the hot seat

I literally laughed out loud at every one of those. One thing people don't understand. It's really hard to win consistently at this level. The teams are too good. The margin of error is thin as hell. This team just needs to keep competing and working and good things will follow.

I’m assuming this is satire

In his last season, he lost to Vandy 13-1 and the very next week lost to Kentucky 13-4 (Kentucky went up 13-3 after the 7th inning). And this was after we started 1-5 in league play. After the Kentucky series, we had a 3-9 SEC record.

And lol at him being incapable of blowing a 2 run lead with 2 innings to play

We disagree but Milazzo is definitely better than Trav and a good defensive catcher. Neal has significantly more power than Milazzo, he just can't seem to figure it out at the plate right now.

I hope Jay sticks to his guns and gets this lineup figured out for the long run.

Until Frey becomes healthy enough to play in the outfield to allow Neal to be the DH, the lineup needs to be the lineup we had Friday Night. Travinski behind the dish with Frey as the DH.
