I know of two in the 90's.

One was during the regionals (97 maybe)

And the other was a couple years before that.

The reason I know this is because the first two games my mother ever attended was at these two games.

I believe Cresses was involved in two during is career at LSU.

Wasn't Brad Cresse a catcher at LSU?

Seems a little unlikely that he would be involved in one triple play, much less two.

I probably have the wrong player then. I seem to remember one that year (I believe 2000) and the announcers commented that one of the players had been involved another prior.

1997 vs. OU in the regional at the Box. It was the same game we hit the HR to set the single season record. It was a fly ball deep to left field caught against the wall. OU had runners on 1st and 2nd and we were able to double off both runners.

There was definitely one in a regional game vs. Oklahoma in the 90's...it was started by Trey McClure at 3rd base...he touched 3rd after fielding a grounder...then threw to second...then the second baseman threw to 1st for the triple play. What the records do NOT show is that the guy at 1st was safe by a good step

Nope. It was a hot sot to 3rd and Barbier was standing on 3rd and caught it and went around the horn for the triple play.

LINK
Oklahoma 5th - Hill singled to first base, bunt (0-0). Hart singled to second
base, bunt (0-0); Hill advanced to second. Wathan grounded into triple play 3b to 2b
to 1b (2-0); Hart out on the play; Hill out on the play. 0 runs, 2 hits, 0
errors, 0 LOB

Thanks for the correction. Guess my recollection is not that good.

Yes LSU has had triple plays. One thing LSU has never had is probably a single player getting a unassisted triple play.

I said earlier in the thread. Trey McClure
